Great video. You actually pressure washed it! Hopefully you keep doing that in the future. Here's a little tip; before removing spark plugs from ANY engine, blow air down the spark plug hole to get rid of any grit and dirt that might be there. Saves it from falling into the cylinder....and you don't want that!

He loves it alright, to bad he is not willing to improve himself making the same mistakes over and over again. The fact he revs a engine to the moon that has been sitting for 20+ years without oiling up first is just plain stupid. Besides if he took one hour a week to read some of the comments with decent honest tips he would do a lot better. I still watch once in a while because he amuses me.

I also see it is hard to clean underneath the rear bed of this machine. I have a utility machine with a tilt bed and everything is right there clean and to work on when the bed is up. I always use a garden hose to wet and get as much mud as I can off before I use the electric pressure washer to finish clean. Pressure washers can cut seals and bend radiator fins.

You're absolutely incorrect, with only 3,000 MI nothing the owner could have done would create a ring Gap like that. You can run it on one cylinder for 3000 mi and it wouldn't have a ring Gap like that, nearly a quarter inch. That was a disgruntled owner that spent $16,000, to need a partial engine rebuild do to lack of quality of control in the assembly. Dealership and manufacturer won't cover it, an owner not willing to pay 5K repair so they bailed. Those were cheap rings and that's the manufacturer's fault

I appreciate seeing work performed on vehicles I have little experience with. I'm 67 years old and retired as a shop owner and professional mechanic. While trouble shooting involves the same procedures, fuel and ignition, verify timing etc. as the basics are the same, the vehicles are different. I owned a number of street bikes but working on them wasn't my thing. A few months ago, I bought a new 2023 "Great Blue" Suzuki King Quad 750. It now has a total of 3 miles on it. I installed all Warn winch, front plow mount and anything else was Warn. I enjoy watching as you possess a wealth of knowledge and experience on vehicles that I have little experience with.

We ride a shared trail six miles into our off-road cabin in Alaska. Many people have cabins spread out for many miles and other people fish and hunt off the trail. In 24 years the only machine I’ve seen burnt to the ground was a CF moto like this one. It was hard to recognize as even the rims were melted. I took a bunch of pictures and did some research to see the brand. The only machine I’ve towed out was an Arctic Cat. I’ve seen a few of all brands broke down. There probably were more Polaris machines broke down , but more than half the machines I see on the trail are Polaris.

Hey Joe have you ever added in marvel mystery oil with the motor oil? when you do oil filter and oil changes. on those types of engines with oil filters on them at all before as A motor oil treatment. Run that mixture in it until the second motor oil change. Cause a lot of times it's from lack of chemistry called changing the old burnt motor oil out with new motor oil when it's time to do so. So A mear suggestion is you can try that little trick tip to help flush out and clean up the inside internal engine parts to like sludge buildup.,or metal and metallic shavings and shard's of bits of metal.,or aluminum.,or Piston oil rings to.

I used to work for a company with lots of heavy equipment used for moving dirt. They did regular engine oil analysis and what they found was that oil that had high levels of silica (from dust) also had had high levels of compounds that make up the wear surfaces of the internal engine parts. Silica in the oil was coming from dust being sucked into combustion air either through or after the oil filter. After seeing the condition of the engine and air filter in this machine I would say dust and lack of maintenance ruined the engine. I would also think that the excess wear may be through out the engine not just in the rod bearing and rings. Might want to see what a new or used engine would cost.

Not immediately changing the oil was a strange move. Who knows what's in there. I worked at a car dealership and got access to a repo lot. There would be tags on them stating the crap the owner did before they came to be collected like draining the oil or removing parts. I ended up getting an amazing deal on a Suzuki vstrom which was a great bike.

I have cforce 400 and 625 on my dairy farms....both 4 years old and get a hard life with no oil changes or maintenance and have had no problems at all...actually are great atv's and have outlasted the many Honda 450/500's and Suzuki 500/750's i had previously ,they all chewed through the oil after only 2 years of abuse ...when they finally expire i dig a hole with the excavator and lay to rest

Is the PCV system or the crankcase evacuation system plugged up?

You caught this in time, with the rod bearings with that much play it was a matter of time before it crashed and burned. The owner did not care about maintenance, he knew it was going to be repossessed.

Where you going to get the rebuild kit? I run a Zforce 950 from CFMOTO and am curious on places to get parts.

I just spent some time riding my brother-in-laws Polaris side by side RZR. With that machine, you need to have the seatbelt fastened in order to get any power out of it. Otherwise, it feel’s totally like a dud. Is it the same with that unit.

It may be a bit of work for you but I think you caught this thing just in time before catastrophic failure. I think you will do ok on this unit.

Depending on location, $16k is way over list. I bought my 22 800ex brand new for $12,500 out the door. Pretty good machines. Mines heavily modified from stock now lol
