There are a ton of really disturbed and psychopaths and killers that are into The grindcore genres. Not so much gridncore but usually Goregrind, Gorenoise and Pornogrind. Not so much Grindcore though. Also I’ve seen a lot sick fucks into Brutal death metal and slam death metal. They are the August Underground type of characters. Or “incels” and disturbed “incels” who like to shoot up places. Some like gg allin too I’ve seen. I’ve seen the really sick ones into this kr simply when they get found out and all the shit. The El Paso Walmart shooter also was into Poronogrind and in a Pornogrind band.

Hey Dillon, I recently bought a large collection of records which all had "Jack The Ripper" as the name of the band / artist, or more commonly one of the tracks on the disc. 100s of them. Some obvious stuff like Link Wray or Screaming Lord Sutch, with every possible variant of each 7" or LP including demos and test pressings on all of the labels. There was also some really obscure records which I'm still trying to get more information about. As you can probably guess there were quite a few rare punk singles amongst the lot. I spent quite quite a while wondering what sort of person got together such a collection? Perhaps another serial killer? Keep up the good work, spreading the love of vinyl, and sharing the information. Peace and respect. TT

OH! I’d be looking for that record that Buffalo Bill was listening to in Silence of the Lambs. I looked it up not long ago and it’s easily a $400 record. I like it. It’s a bit shoegaze I’d say. I’m loving this video already. Alright…. I suppose it’s an American Psycho situation… just likes Phil Collins and Peter Gabriel. The Thriller albums! I love thinking that the guy figured they’d be worth a lot of money someday because it was so popular. It cracks me up, thinking about a psycho killer doing the same mundane stuff we all do. Remember that Halloween movie where Michael Myers drove a car? All the fear of him left me when I imagined him a a four way stop, getting frustrated that another driver isn’t going when he waves them through…. Do you think he uses his turn signals? It’s beautiful how our guy talks about his relationship with his wife. She lets him be him and he appreciates her so much that he wants to make sure she’s alright with what he’s doing. He also values her opinion so much that he’ll check his own desires if she really thinks something is a bad idea. Probably because he recognizes she’s often right and wanting to show her the same love and respect she shows him when he brings home boxes of filthy records.
@zecazevedoАй бұрын
The American Psycho didn't like Peter Gabriel, just Phil Collins.
@N0rthTАй бұрын
@ OK, I read some of the book and saw the movie once. I remember him liking 80s pop/soft rock. I guess what I’m saying is that I found it anachronistic. Like if someone were trying to make a character read “psycho killer,” they’d have made the character listen to death metal. In the case of American Psycho, I think it’s more interesting to have the character like music that’s not on the nose, psycho killer music. It immediately draws me in… “this is different. This is interesting. Heck, it’s creepier that he doesn’t fit into the usual box and he seems normal and is successful in the real world In the case of Michael Myers in Halloween…. I guess I looked at Michael Myers as pure and ancient evil. Even if he was born the same year I was, his evilness transcends that. Giving this mystical demon modern/earthly concerns kinda killed it for me. Imagine an evil demon complaining about how the show Game of Thrones finished. It makes him too familiar. Being that American Psycho was a more realistic story, it’s creepier thinking that I share the same appreciation for love songs that the lead character does. I guess the fear of Michael Myers stems from him being otherworldly, whereas with the American Psycho guy, it’s more disturbing that he could do such awful things while passing a the typical wall street ghoul. He makes the viewer grapple with their own reality…. Makes us not take our safety for granted.
@John-et5wu2 ай бұрын
It makes sense to think that a serial killer would have a weird music taste and better records, but to me a serial killer having a very normal mundane music taste makes the most sense. It reminds you of how outwardly normal and non weird most serial killers actually behave.

In England we had the satanic panic. Bands were accused of all types of crazy things. Then we had a lady called Mary Whitehouse who decided it was "video nasties" that were responsible for everything that was wrong in the UK. They banned lots of horror films and elevated them into a coolness that they never would have had. That all happened and then we got more rock/heavy-metal music based satanic panic. Then they went after hip-hop and rap. They are still trying to do similar things. The last 5 years have been the worst time I've ever known to be in England and the governments answer was - We need to investigate the Oasis reunion concerts ticket prices lol.
