I live in Durban and I can tell you we have the absolute best of all worlds here , you can start off in fully developed the City with everything that any other city in the world can offer and more, half an hours drive your in a game reserve , go the other way and your in the mountains , go the other way and your on the wild coast enjoing the ocean , travel about 4 hours up north along the coast and your in St lucia , richards bay and empangeni , amazing beautifull areas , travel down towards the wild coast and turn left , and your in a Forrest . and During certain seasons , if you travel to the mountains there's snow! . And when your done , you can go back home ! And this is just Durban , Theres still Cpt and Jhb and so much more .

As a South African, I can agree that the view of Africa shown is not always flattering. However there is multiple countries on the continent of africa and some of them are most certainly as depicted in the news and docuseries etc as war torn and run by rebels but there are also gems and amazing places and countries. The African Continent has in my honezt optinion some of the most spectacular views vir a variety of cultures and customs. This does not take away from other countries that have rich and diverse cultures and histories. I would say dont be afraid to wabder off the beaten path in Africa and make the most of your time on the continent, but also keep your ears to the ground and get the feel for areas based on how the community guides you.

Thanks for giving me this experience and the ability to see new places from your bike! Walking through markets and streets in Guatemala, talking to people in Mexico, going through northern Canada and Alaska! And South Africa! I’ve always wondered what it would look like on the ground, with baboons crossing the road and wildebeests in the distance. Your biking along the backroads in the Yukon was so precious. I worked as a geologist's helper in Mayo when I was a summer student. Then my friend and I spent 10 days exploring from Whitehorse to Skagway about 5 years ago. I am from Vancouver, but many family members have travelled in the Yukon over the years as one of those magical areas to explore.

And usually weaver birds create colonies that can number over 100 nests. The flower is a bird of paradise and those were helmeted guinea fowl (they taste really good too)

ah yes. Whether ritually or in fits of rage, they are portrayed as self-mutilating creatures, peeling off parts of their own skins and shoving pieces of metal into the flesh.

Lived in Jo’burg for 5 years and biked all round SA on my own. People thought I was crazy to do that as a lone female. I felt safer out in the country than around Jo’burg. Loving your travels and reminding me of fun times. Went to Tzaneen with the BMW club of Pretoria - great off-road riding. Enjoy 🌹

1) This ep proves that there is a motorcycle fellowship that knows no boundaries. You can always count on a fellow rider to help you out when push comes to shove. 2) I admire how you did not let the road block sour your day. I'm sure it was disappointing (been there, done that) but you did not let it take anything away from the experience, which is what this is all about.

I don't know if anyone said this before but the bird nest - they are weaver birds. The male builds them (amazing to watch) to attract a female. What's sad is when he flys away to get more grass, another male will steal the chance to swoop in and start tearing his nest apart. When he comes back he has some home repairs to do.

Happy International Women's Day!! You were riding through some spectacular countryside today. Lush and green. Your new bike seems to be perfect for these roads and areas. Safe travels. p.s. good thing the guinea fowl didn't 'sound off' for you---a group of guinea fowl can be ear-splittingly LOUD when they get excited.
