That spotting scope is more valuable than you think. Hunters use them for spotting game and for long range shooting. Might bring you anywhere from $ 75 to a $ 100 dollars used. I looked it up on ebay and found it be worth more but, you'll have to work it out for what you can get or want.

The scope you found earlier in the video is a spotting scope. They're used for spotting long range targets for marksmen. Some VHS tapes, depending on their condition and what they are can actually be worth decent ca$h.

You're right, never discount pens. I found a pen in a lot of holiday stuff I bought at an auction. It looked pretty cheap, and I was just about to toss it in the donate pile, but it was in a hinged wood box so I decifed to look it up. I was glad I did because I ended up selling it for $70.

Just cleaned out our storage unit, getting ready to downsize it. I thought of you guys, it was a mess with the most random stuff. We moved out quickly and put 90% of our stuff in the unit. It felt good to rent a dumpster and throw out 50%. Couldn't even donate anything because of where we live. But I didnt care I watched 3 seasons of hoarders to prepare myself.

There are cassettes that sell for very high prices. There are a lot of sold items on eBay for over $500 - I would recommend studying them so you don't accidentally throw out something valuable.

If no one has said anything yet, the magnifying glass with the clips is called a "Helping Hand", usually used in electronics repair to hold wires while soldering, or jewelry making, or anything that requires that extra pair of hands you always wish you had. They really don't cost much, $5 to $15 at the most. I'd say flea market item. :(

I got rid of ten vhs players after my husband passed away. The reason we had so many he was afraid he wouldn't be able to play his movies. He also had Alzheimer's. He also polished rocks. I have Christmas tins of them. I find it interesting what people store. I have a relative who lost at least three units.

I visited the Winchester Mystery House in San Jose back in the late 90s and I literally thought I was going to die the whole time I was there. I thought people in Los Angeles drove crazy until I visited San Jose. I was in fear because I thought we would be killed on the freeway or the street. In spite of being scared for our lives, we thoroughly enjoyed the Winchester Mystery House. It's very interesting and beautiful.

@@richardbellsr2345 I have went through major trauma in my, I cut my fingers off the night before my HS graduation and that memory I would like to forget! I found out I have multiple sclerosis about 7 years ago and it makes me forget things all the time now and sucks! I got very upset a couple of times once was when I couldn't find my bank, same bank for 35 years and I was on the opposite side of the railroad tracks and later that same week I was in the gas station and had an entire conversation with my own cousin and couldn't remember her name or who she was till I got a block down the road! That's when I decided to stop taking the MS meds because it was making me worse! I got a glimps at what people who suffer from dementia go through and it's heartbreaking.

I wish you could get a really nice one full of treasures, but IMO the majority of people who store things don't put the expensive things in storage. Unless they are on the run from the law. It's not just homes, but everything from McDonald's to an apple at a grocery store being more expensive. I can vouch since I lived in the area. It's not the MOST expensive homes in the country, it's the most expensive on avg. The tech companies have pushed most reg folks out.
