You also got leaky Shimano calipers lol. Shimano could be pretty good if they just went back to the drawing table and started over as well as offering spareparts for everything inside their brakes. Next year I'll look for something else because I'm done with brakes I cannot trust where the bitepoint lives its own life. If the Lewis brakes are any good and they offer spareparts it could be an alternative. So far I got lots of time to evaluate...
@aledska3 ай бұрын
@a8f235 spare parts haven't been an issue. So far I've gotten a new o-ring set and new clamp bolt (I stripped the old one) for free as replacements from Lewis. They also sell their own hoses, matchmaker adapters, brake pads, rotors, etc

Looking forward to your opinion of the the Lewis brakes! Your Dominion review was very informative. The leaking caliper was unfortunate, but the sloppy finish on those brakes is what deters me. The missmatching of the machined parts would drive me nuts and the lack of attention to detail at that price makes me question the company. My ebike came with Code's and I've tried to make them suck less by using HS2 rotors and Deslackinators on the levers, but I still hate them. Trying to decide what to replace them with next year and Lewis are on the short list. I can't keep waiting around for next gen Saint.

Just started the video, but that blue tape on the fork is very confidence-inspiring, lol. Rich Drew has one of those forks, and the way the wheel springs forward and tops out in slow-mo video of jumps just never gets old for me. Does the nature of the linkage fork alter the way the geometry changes as the wheel moves through travel, compared to a regular fork?
@DaleStone3 ай бұрын
The rubber plug that the tape is holding has lost its dingle that holds it on, probably due to age haha. There are absolutely geometry changes that are noticeable throughout the travel. Good and bad...

It would be interesting to try a fork like that, I just would never purchase it myself given it'd be mainstream if it was a better option than conventional forks. If anything else would go mainstream over that thing it would be upside down forks, but I have little faith in that happening even though you do see some here and there. @@DaleStone it was meant to be a compliment. In this video you are doing so many things I wouldn’t and that creates intriguing content. Changing anything on my bike the day of a race wouldn’t jive with me let alone something unknown, untested and very different from what was on the bike before is wild, it would have me out of sorts on a ride that I would be taking it easy, but to let it rip in a race like that is taking it to a whole nutha level.

The axle path on this fork is too rearward at beginning, makes it hard to react to vertical impact, it's very harsh on flat drops almost felt rigid. And too much rearward movement makes it easy to OTB when you're riding slow tech, the front wheel just get's out the way of obstacles and under you, that's good at rear, on the front it's scary.
@RiderP4113 ай бұрын
