Today, I bought a 2008 Ferrari 430 Scuderia, one of the best and most desirable V8 cars Ferrari ever made, except mine has some issues. Some very big, obvious issues. It's been in a crash and doesn't really look like a showroom example. Can we DIY the repair and will it start?

Agree.. Still though it has an old burned Ferrari that doesn't have a running engine and with a burned interior and now it has this Ferrari that starts (a good engine + good interior) so my wondering why not pour money into just one so instead doing both as usual just resto-fit & upgrade the old one with everything that is good from this model, from 2 bad things 1 thing will be doing great just like a fully resto-fit up-grade the old car to modern spec.. this is what i would do.. something crazy, totally different than anyone else on youtube and way much cooler to watch the whole up-grade transformation building process because in the end you know you have a one-off super-cool Ferrari car ! ;0)

First start was normal because of the weak battery. Absolutely standard F430 problem. The car always has to be connected to a battery charger.

Wait till it says 'Check OK' in the display otherwise it will only fire up one bank of cylinders so it will run and sound like a 4 cylinder as it did on the first start. ;-)

@@nighthawk0077 Resale value. It's going to take a ding being a salvage title vehicle. Even if it's rare. A manual swapped one will bring in way more interest if he were to sell it. I'd imagine more people would look past the salvage title if there were only a couple in the world that are manual swapped. It's the perfect opportunity with the salvage title.

That's pretty much all that is missing in your arsenal of cars. This car is already 90% there with all the cf and it would provide different content compared to your other builds

I think the interior of the car (when put back to stock) is pretty much what it needs to be. I'm usually one for a little more comfort, but in this case, adding a bunch of sound deadening and a carpet makes it lose something. This from a guy who completely tore up and is replacing an entire interior except the physical dash portion

I love this project and this build is gonna be epic. I think color scheme wise you gotta go with a beautiful dark green paint on the exterior maybe with some silver/gold stripes and a classic Ferrari tan interior!

I own one as well, since new (white, racing livery, yellow calipers and techno cloth, racing harness, radio and roll-bar). I love it! Does yours have the roll-bar by the way? You've got to have the roll-bar! So cool! It is the only car I would never-ever get rid of. Whatever you decide on, go for a uni color (non metallic) and please keep it spartan on the inside. You'll be regretting otherwise. It's not a luxury car. You should hear the sand and rocks hit the tubs when you're driving along! Love it!

Some liveries to emulate: the Yates/Gurney Cannonball Ferrari Daytona, Sunoco Blue with yellow pinstripes. NART Blue with white stripe. Silver with offset R/W/B stripes, Le Mans 250GTO, 1963. Scuderia Filipnetti, Red with Blue stripe and wheels.

By way of suggestion: Ferraris ALWAYS look best in bright and bold colors. Red would be classic and is never a wrong choice but a yellow, like the one used on the logo for Advanced Auto Parts would be beautiful--especially if you incorporated its checkered flag as a solid wide "stripe" from nose to tail. Whatever you choose, I am sure it will look great. Here's to a much easier and quicker build than your other supercars! All of that said, don't forget your Lotus...

Freddie, what have you done? You got your work ahead of you again. Hopefully with the experience you gained on the last build this one won’t take 2years, but then again parts can be hard to find on exotic cars. Your comments about the welds I noted, when one buys a sports car one would expect better welds. I have welded since I was 14 both professionally and in my garage, having seen good and bad welds it comes down to quality control. Cost wise you would want workers to make quick welds, but since you don’t want the sections of a car to be to strong and flex or break in an accident could account for quality. I know in your repair of this car you will make a visible welds look good and be stronger than factory. Good luck , I look forward to see how you stay within a reasonable cost on this one. Not easy I am sure, but enjoy enthusiasm in the work you do.

PDR the rear quarter, it will straighten. Aluminum is not hard to work, it is different than steel. PDR then strip to bare metal and finish repair. You can do it!

Liberty Walk wide body!! Pearl white with deep red ghost stripes. Interior will be like the McLaren feel only also in deep red. Where interior has carbon fiber, needs to be matt with a deep red tint. And accents like knobs and switches all in red gold to finish it off.

There’s so much room for turbos! It’s already a stripped down almost race car. Just turn everything up. Weld up everything that needs extra welding. Upgrade all the usual suspects. Turn it into a weekend warrior road racer. Then take it to compete in some SCCA, NASA, etc events.

The paint theme should be '70s Van Art'. I'm thinking that brown that everything was back then, with those yellow stripes they used to accent everything. Top it off with a Bikini Elf holding a sword cutting the head off a Bikini Orc surrounded by fog and you've got yourself a badass ride. Maybe add a rainbow.

I think using the the 2020 Ferrari 1000th F1 Race livery as inspiration would be fantastic. Deep burgundy, with yellow accents such as the callipers with matt platinum wheels and some pin striping here and there. Combine that with a Daytona style tan interior and you're all set.

Honestly not that bad of damage. The quarter is doable but the issue with aluminum is you need a lot of heat to move it otherwise it will have a high chance of tearing or just not moving at all. The panel doesn’t look like it rolled over on itself which in my experience is the hardest thing to fix on aluminum. Anyone that’s had to pull out an aluminum cab corner knows this pain lol

Not a massive Ferrari fan, but a mega Formula 1 fan. If you say the exhaust sounds like an f1 car, make the theme about f1. Give it the ferrari paint job, but the one from Mugello where they had the cars painted a light burgundy sort of color.
