Hi taddy , Mark here , ex Qld 'er now living in WARATAH on the west coast. Just a suggestion , unless you're cashed up , i wouldn't be in a rush to take everything to the dump . Those kitchen cabinets are worth a few bucks if you're not going to reuse them. I'm always looking for a 2nd hand kitchen to put in my 150 yr old miners cottage. The curtains would be the last things i would throw away as they will keep your rooms warm while you are renovating. The small sheds would be excellent for firewood storage , you can't have too much firewood in Tassie .😅 Anyway , I'm subscribed and looking forward to your reno videos . Also , that wooden table in your soon to be man cave is firewood for your wood heaters too . Good luck 👍.
@GoldieGold3564 ай бұрын
Exactly, those kitchen carcasses are shockingly expensive for what they are. But like you said, unless your cashed up? You can get some choice cabinet doors and hardware and make them look pretty top notch.

Thanks Mark, check out the 1 and 2 month update videos and soon to be 3 month. The old kitchen cabinets are quite water damaged unfortunately. I managed to get a great full Tas Oak kitchen that will work perfectly for $700. Will just need new benchtops.

So much potential! 😀 Mow and whipper snipper it first. Sell the items you don't want. Use the cash to put towards what you do want. Power clean home, and install kitchen, plumbing, and get all the electrical wiring checked at least, replaced is better. Install all safety appliances - smoke alarms, etc. Don't forget to enjoy the view in a good chair on that veranda on your breaks. 😀 Shift that water tank to where you want it, and see if you think you could use another one. Wow! Orchard and veggie garden with reticulation. Chickens and environmentally friendly lawnmowers of your choice. Out sheds are brilliant for filling up with wood/ winter feed for livestock being invaluable for the cold weather. Take your time. Be careful. Don't strain your back; it's not a crane. Use a trolley, lift with your legs, not your back. Eat good food and enjoy good music. Early to bed and early to rise. Welcome that sunrise each day. You'll make that place your castle and enjoy it more every day. All the best. 😀

I would also invest in doing some solar panels and larger rainwater tank for off grid use, this way when the power does go out, you have the backup as well for it....if this is an abandoned property like in the middle of bush with no power attached then off grid power would be the way to go with it....just a suggestion though

With the removal of anything asbestos affected I'd be looking at the stumps and roof before rebuilding the place room by room and possibly expanding the house to get a bigger house with a second bathroom and toilet aswell as expanding the kitchen and bedrooms. Get a nanny goat for milk and to keep weeds out and you can put in a few fruit trees and a vegetable garden.
