They are OLD 3ds. The only ds worth anything is the n3ds or the n3dsxl. I personally have and use an n3dsxl but the small one is better

my mom ordered me one of these, bless her heart, and honestly I was happy with the custom firmware and access to retro games. in fact, just because i could, i got doom and doom 2 on the thing. only issue is that the joystick on the 3ds was terrible like it was super sticky-ish and barely worked. i’ve been thinking about trying to replace it myself but idk if it’s worth it

Eh, is super easy to add them now, decades ago when I sent my 2ds to mod years ago the guy just added the very first version of luma alongside bootstrap and left the rest to me to deal with across the years Using guides and reading community messages I learned how to upgrade the CFW to the latest and switching from bootstrap to godmod Once you make the first mod everything else is very easy to inject into the console, just drag and drop and install

Its seriously not worth the extra cost to buy a modded console. It takes like 15-20 minutes and can be done from a cell phone. Its so easy and basically risk free plus if its premodded and you dont know to make a nand backup when you get it you're in for an awful time if something really does go wrong

I wouldn't assume the 3rd party casings have the issue, but the reason they came with the see-through case is because of OEM 3ds paint does not last, even sunlight over time will make the paint bubble and fall apart, it physically tears overtime (mainly what the hard case is for)

This is my biggest fear. I love 3ds and tbh my real ones are getting worn out. You can't find real ones easily and I dont want to buy crappy replacements and fake parts to replace. My rubber in my old models are worn and fell apart off the slider stick is fine just had to glue homemade ones on it

If you don't find luck in local areas, buy a Japanese 3DS on ebay and softmod it. The softmodding removes the region lock, and then you can do a locale switch to make it the proper region to restore backups. I got a new 3DS LL in great condition for around $130 with shipping.

I buy a old 3ds japanese model with USA region mod, it's works great, the only change who add was a cover and a more big micro sd with more speed This works, and all homebrew works too, including the latest update PS: can be return the japanese 3DS console to the original firmware following a tutorial, looks fine, has more content in japanese eshop (before the closing), like exclusive themes and games

With those consoles you should also try to download an update for a cartridge game. At 14:20 the OS version was visible and it had the E for europe at the end which would make it impossible to access the US eShop and download updates for US cartridge games. They only load because the modding removes the region lock. And even if the system says it's an US console, attempting to download an update can also expose if the region has been changed through mods, because also then the download will fail.

I think that these 3ds have been built with defected pieces of legit 3ds manufacturers. 3Ds family system uses an old authentification system which is generally disable by defaut now for cause of unsecure method of connection on modern routers.

about my free 3DS a couple of years ago when I got it it was brand new but over time part of it was physically falling apart lucky for me I fixed it with Gorilla Glue Gorilla Glue is a great material to fix it typically would do good job too if I can't buy a new shell I might as well repair it with a few extra dollars right? right

@@jrob0021 no. The lower screen is minimised as it usually does not actually do that much and in some games it can disappear altogether as it's redundant. Mario Kart 7 for instance just uses the lower screen as a race position guide. Don't need it. 3DS is excellent on the Deck.

I remember a new official "New" 3DS costing around $129 USD when I was looking for one back then. (wound up buying a bundle from Costco because there was games I wanted to play on the DS-3DS. @@BRUH2004FTW new 3ds runs better, better frame rate. It also has a very cheap c stick to use as a second analog stick. It's not amazing, but the c stick beats nothing. I feel a huge difference in frame rate on a new 3ds xl compared to an original 3ds.
