I’ve always been a fan of your content and it’s always great seeing the updates. I have an elusive problem with my e90 330 xi 2006. It's got 120k+ kms. A month ago I was refueling while the engine running, and as the fuel was getting to the 3/4 mark, the engine stopped and my iDrive and dashboard were illuminated (transmission malfunction, 4x4 inactive, DTC disabled, and start assistant inactive). I turned the ignition on again after refueling and the car took time to crank, when it did it was in limp mode, I was in a remote village with nowhere to seek support, I drove 100 km in limp mode. As I entered the city, I stopped at a grocery store, and when I got back into the car and cranked it, everything had gone back to normal. Long story short, since that day, it's been giving me hell on earth! For the next few days, it would take time to start and would intermittently stall while driving and before it dies, it pops out all the above faults. I diagnosed it with Carly and there was a code for Crankshaft position sensor signal, I shipped an OE part from FCP Euro and replaced it. Since then it doesn't take time to start like before but whenever I press the pedal a lil hard, especially on an inclination, or sometimes on a stretch, the car acts like it's cutting the power supply, and RPMs drop for a second, the car regains momentum when I release the pedal. When it happens, the check engine light comes on and disappears after a while, sometimes it doesn't. The car stalls when It's going uphill, even at low RPMs We have no BMW specialized shops in my country and I have tried to use my indie mechanic, I did my transmission service (oil and filter), replaced spark plugs and fuel pump, but no improvements. When I hook it up on Carly, it shows, camshaft, crankshaft correlation codes, and a transmission code! A more experienced BMW expert advised that the engine timing must be off, the car’s engine has never been worked on as far as I know and I’m a bit afraid to open the engine unless I am certain. The car’s idling is ok at 600 RPMs and runs ok when not under strain as on a steep hill or under much acceleration on a stretch. I could use your help to understand what is going on!

Hell yeah, I drove a 335i before I got my 135i and the difference in handling is insane. Both stock suspension and my 135 felt stiffer in the chassis and rode just as well as the 335 but the turn in on the 135 was leaps and bounds ahead of the 335, also it's noticeably faster because of the decreased weight and came with brembos from the factory.

I feel like the 1 series and now the 2 series are the actual modern day 3 series because they’re still small and nimble and have characteristic of the old 80s-early 2000s iconic bmw 3 series cars. I love my e90 335i, and it’s still a small car especially by todays standards, but I can certainly feel its weight and it’s not near as nimble as my e36’s were, even though I bet it would perform way better than them. I do sometimes wish I got a 135i. A 135i with a small-ish turbo upgrade would be so sick

People do the bigger to smaller to bigger pipe on the exhaust to keep back pressure, was probably done on the car while it was still an n52 it actually does make a difference on those cars

Nice! I got a green manual e91 that I want to get more power from but for now I think I’ll keep the n52 and just upgrade everything around it till it dies and just have it ready for an n54. Na dude don't spend any money on the motor if u are already planning on swapping. So the move to make the swap 100x easier is get the same year donner car of like copart wrecked... And swap just about everything over. If yours is xi then get a xi and if not don't.. mixing and matching years and xi made it so much harder for my swap
