On my very 1st car that I didn’t decorated it at all just over 23 years ago. I bought a sticker with the Ford logo With Tasmanian Devil for the back window in blue. My 1st car was a 1998 Ford Contour SE in light denim blue. It was a little bit over 23 years ago. I don’t have that car anymore. Now I drive a 2020 Ford Escape SE in black. I still working on it. I’m decorating my vehicle with pink and black. I want people know it is a girly girl vehicle. My favorite color is blue.

Joy, I bought my first ever car in 2020 at 30 and it was a 22 year old, 1998 Ford Crown Victoria LX. I bought it cash! Enjoy driving it, working on it since I'm a mechanic by trade and I have no regrets! Still a proud owner of it for over 3 years :) my previous cars were hand me downs from my parents. Only thing I envy about your car, the gas mileage LOL My car is a gas guzzling V8!!

Except my cubby below the stereo part don't have the door on it. Mine is in really good condition as well. Only 91,000 miles on it when I got it 6 months ago. Your car is so cute. I love Hondas

I hate to break this to you, but this generation of Civic (7th gen: 2001 to 2005) is the worst ever for Civics. With your car at over 170k miles, you should change your radiator to pre-empt any coolant leaks and prevent overheating the engine. The radiator is made of plastic. When the plastic gets old enough, it cracks from heat stress, and the coolant will just flow out of the crack, unlike slow drips from a metal radiator with a pin hole. This engine (D17A) is already prone to blowing the head gasket. If the engine overheats, the head will need to be taken out and machined. That will cost $2k easily today. And the head will then be prone to warping again, but it won't be able to be machined anymore (no more material left to be milled), and you would have to replace the head, which is no longer being made. If you can find a new replacement head, it'd likely be $3k today. This car burns a bit of oil, so check engine oil level every time you fill up to keep it at the full mark (upper hole on the dip stick). Inadequate engine oil will also cause overheating. Change the engine oil every 3k miles to prevent the oil from getting too thin (worn), which will cause engine overheating and excessive wear. Use conventional oil on this car, not full synthetic (synthetic blend ok). Check the engine air filter once every year to make sure it's clean enough to allow adequate airflow into the engine. (There are also 2 cabin air filters behind the glove box.) The automatic transmission is weak on this car, they often burn out at around 150k, so keep up with transmission fluid change every 25k miles, but do not flush the transmission! A rebuild of the transmission can easily run over $5k on this car. The fuel pump is weak, so do not let gas level go below 1/4 tank or you'd risk burning out the fuel pump. Change timing belt every 80k miles or 6 to 8 years because this engine is an "interference" engine, if the timing belt were to break, the valves will get damaged, and the engine will be irreparable. Always use Honda original OEM parts (Denso radiator and electronic components, Bando belts, etc.). Do not use aftermarket parts on Honda cars. There is a small percentage of owners who got lucky with this generation and got away with low maintenance and few problems, especially with the manual transmission version, but that's really a roll of the die with this generation.
@joypressley48212 жыл бұрын
Wow Thankyou for all the advice ! I've been noticing every time I fill up my gas tank, it gets on half in only 2 days !
@niemand0002 жыл бұрын
@@joypressley4821 The distance between the two holes on the dipstick represents approx. 1 quart. If you are saying the oil level is dropping from the top hole to the halfway point between the top and bottom holes, then you are losing approx 1/2 quart of oil. If you are losing that much oil in 2 days, the engine is too far gone--the cylinder wall is so worn that an excessive amount of engine oil is escaping up between the piston rings and the cylinder wall into the combustion chamber and being burnt along with fuel. This is beyond repair. The excess amount of engine oil escaping will reach the catalytic converter and damage it eventually. In similar fashion, unburnt fuel will much more easily escape down via the same path into the engine crankcase and dilute the engine oil prematurely. If this is the case, the seller sold you a lemon. My same model year Civic burns 1/2 quart of oil in 3k miles, and it has 290k miles.

@@niemand000 wow idk what to do 😩should I take it to a mechanic to fix the gas tank problem ?

@@joypressley4821 You need to be able to describe what the problem is. Apparently, I am not understanding what you mean by "it gets on half". What is this "it" you are referring to? What do you mean by "gets on half"?
