I am glad you got what you wanted!!! I KNEW you didn't want that white stripe. I would clay the whole car and get all the toxins out of the paint before you wrap it. I would also get the whole car clear wrapped not just the front. I know you said ceramic but I've seen a clear wrap on a black new Corvette and it was AMAZING bro. I say thumbs up to what you have but yes I would think about taking the stripes off before you can see the outline of it. I have heard they tear and yes like you said show swirls and water marks as well real easy.

Jeff you're going to want to get that thing XPEL wrapped immediately. I would suggest at a minimum XPEL wrapping the front bumper, hood, fenders, and mirrors.

jbrosupra just because it's new doesn't mean the paint is as it was fresh off the line. Just as the salesman stated they washed it when the initially received it. That single wash, which was more than likely done inappropriately created swirls, and other fine scratches. The car would be good to go with a LIGHT cut, then the polishing is just the icing on the cake. Why apply XPEL to paint that isn't 100%?

Big difference in Dealerships. The Salesperson did the right thing from the beginning by Parking the car on a angle so no door dings, also had the car outside in natural light. Good Luck with your purchase.

@Jeff Ashton Being a huge car guy myself I would want my brand-new vehicle to be in perfect shape regardless of the money I spent on the car. It's my money, and the dealership works for me. It's their job to make sure the car is spotless and problem free prior to selling the vehicle, but many dealers don't look at that as a high priority. Just recently purchased my second vehicle and I'm happy to say I'm a proud owner of a 2018 Subaru STi in World Rally Blue. Beautiful Shelby and I'm glad you finally found the right one!!

I agree , now if they are upfront about damage, discount the vehicle, and make it clear there is damage BEFORE the buying process begins and that is why the car is discounted then that is another story. But in a case where they get you to the dealership then try to explain away damage, they usually go on my NO business list immediately and I walk out. Same goes for the finance desk, I have had people try to sneek fees as large as $2900 on to a finance sheet without telling you up front. (trick is they will agree to give you way over your trade-in value or discount car way below dealer cost and then try to sneak the money back into the sale at the finance desk...and sometimes more.) That gets me to walk out immediately. (I have even had a dealer tell me I did not understand finance...I was a Real-Estate Agent at the time and had minored in Mathematics in college at the time. Yea that went over well) It unfortunate but you must be on your guard at all times no matter how nice they seem.

Congrats for the second time on your second 2017 Shelby! I'm pretty OCD and special ordered my 2017 GT and wanted it dealer unprepared and had all the plastic wrap on the outside and inside on it when I took delivery of it. I'm with you about these tings.

I'm glad I watched your videos. I thought I was being too picky when buying a new car by telling the dealer to not put their logo sticker on the back of my vehicle. Last time I requested that - they put one on anyway, and I told them to take it off or I wouldn't buy the car. Then when they removed the sticker, they scratched the trunk - then they offered to paint the trunk lid. I said no thanks and went to another dealership. A few days later, I saw the car back on their lot. They had put a sticker over the scratch.

I think by you being "picky" you might actually help ford and other companies keep strict guidelines on the build line for cars. my 17 gt pp had horrible panel gaps and my GT badge was falling out, turns out they never melted the plastic rod into the rivet.

Jeff Ashton Hey Jeff, back with an update. Car itself had no visible damage, unfortunately it was stored outside so the paint wasn't in the greatest shape, which would have been manageable but when I got there the dealer said there's a 10k markup, after telling me on the phone they're selling it at MSRP which really rubbed me the wrong way. As much as I want a GT350, 90k before taxes just isn't gonna happen (Damn Canadian prices)

I now agree. The black bonnet decals look way better than white after having a chance to see both in the same video. I live in Australia where we just started getting the 2017 Mustang last year and they are a horn car. This plant makes the Taurus and Explorers. They build them and then drive them down the street to a holding lot before loading them up on trains. Just bought a 2017 mustang gt yesterday myself. Was the hardest thing ever because I traded in my 03 cobra on it, but it was time. I will GREATLY miss the cobra, but I wanted something with a warranty that had some more amenities in it and was still fast, so I got a black premium edition 5.0 with the 20 inch rims that aren't as common as u normally see, and the heated and cooled seats were a nice feature too. Whoever gets my cobra will get a well maintained car, and it only had 21,000 miles on it, but it was starting to be a little costly with repairs on things that were just wearing out like the drivers side window motor and regulator for example. I wanted a gt350 but a 40k premium edition was already pushing the limits of what I could afford. Hope to have a gt350 one day though. Hope you enjoy yours. Sorry for the long post, I just can relate to some of what you've been going through. You earned a sub as well....and hey, who needs a lambo anyway when you've got a badass 350 sitting in the garage
