It's a really really good thing, to see all those things done. As cars get older, all those things need to be done. Some of them are 50k-75k-100k-150k milage things. Things that can get to be very expensive to have done. So buying a car that has all the high mileage service fundamentals properly done, is actually a HUGE DEAL. I buy my cars the same way as Ed on that point, anyway.. From some older gent, woman, or couple that has done all the right service work, and then buy the car super cheap..and drive it for 2-3-4 years and do ZERO service on it. Then, at the end... limp it to the junkyard, for my down payment on my next high mileage used car at super cheap prices. Last one cost me $1200 total, including the purchase price, for +4 years of driving. never buy new! I never buy specific models or brands, that's how you walk into financial deathtraps. I buy the right car in the right condition. Could be a Buick, a Chrysler, a ford, a Toyota, a Nissan...who knows. It just has to be the right serviced car.

There's something all too funny about watching Ed declare the Range Rover to be among the world's best cars after watching Hoovie detail all the things wrong with his (mechanically totaled was how he described it), and then burying it in a hole that originally held his LeBaron convertible. That said, I don't know why I have never owned a S Class Mercedes of some sort. I've enjoyed each one I've driven, and I've driven most generations of S Class at least once (still need to check the W140 and the latest generation off the list). Nope. Even though all my stuff on my cars was always taken care of by warranty, I can't recall a single invoice under $700, keep that in mind for those of you looking to buy out of warranty 6 figure German cars.

The S65 is pure class. Really want one of these in my fleet when I’m older and can afford it lol

I have a 2007 S550 and absolutely love it. It’s incredibly comfortable, performs very well for it’s size, and I love the design (both interior and exterior.) They’re much better vehicles than the C215/W220 predecessors and actually seem to be much more reliable. I acquired mine with 79k miles about a year and a half ago and now have 94.5k. Haven’t had any large issues (knock on wood) besides the fact that my Airmatic pump needs replacement. Car drives fine, but the pump is abnormally loud. Maintenance is quite expensive comparatively, but a good Indy and some DIY’ing can cut that down significantly. Basically I’ve done maintenance, tires (these cars LOVE to eat tires), and some minor things like a trans mount and a valve gasket leak (honestly can’t remember exactly what it was, but it was minor and the dealer quoted me the cheapest rate to get it fixed. ) I highly recommend these cars if you know what you’re getting into reliability wise. It’s not a Lexus, but it’s not a Range Rover either. The S65 is actually probably one of the most reliable models as really the only thing to watch for is the coil packs and ABC suspension.

When I first saw the title for the video I thought "Wow, Ed bought a Honda or Toyota." But then I remembered.."wait, this is Ed." (Hope this made you laugh. I always love the VINwiki videos.)

Coincidence, I just rewatched a bunch of stand ups in the past week, including Mitch Hedberg. “Sorry for the convenience.”

J KERLS In what respect? Reliability, yes. Off road capability, they’re even. User comfort, no.

Congratulations on a win Ed! I am jealous, just had the other 90 percent of the used car market myself, so I am happy someone somewhere is getting a better hand dealt to them

Dexter Sullen 'TRUTH' they’re super cheap too. My local MB dealer is selling an 04 with 39k miles for $19,500. That’s crazy good deal for a car at the MB dealer!

@@BeesonsCars but the trick is they want you to get it repaired at the dealership too, everytime you take it in, it I'll be a 1000$ minimum quote

Ed’s sentiments on Range Rovers is spot on. I speak from direct and current experience.....”Look at all of these things that have been done!”

One of my favorite cars. Have a fond memory of being driven to my Year 12 formal in one, as a family friend had just picked up a brand new '11 S65 AMG in the same color too! I remember finding the front brakes so interesting haha.
