When I was younger, a lady (bookkeeper)at work had one of those Micra’s it was a 1982 “A” reg and she had it for 12 years and loathed to have to part with it. She traveled into Manchester from Derbyshire everyday and it never let her down. Just entered the raffle.

This Nissan Micra gives me memories, the first car I drove after I passed my test for a few years until got my own. My Dad kept it going till he passed away in 2010. Lovely little thing

My very first car was a Mini 850cc. It was That basic. The seat's were nearly as thin as a Deck Chair. Lucky for me. At 6' 4" I could get in/out. It was that early. You put the ignition key in and turned it on. Then.......... Press the starter button which was in the floor 🤣🤣. I even remember the Reg. WWS 841. See you in the next one. Cheers, 👍👍

My dad has a "D" reg version of this, in black and silver but still a 1.0 ltr. He bought it after moving back from Cornwall to Yorkshire. It made a lot of journeys to and from, coming to meet his grandchildren as they popped out, the car never missed a beat, he finally sold it when he realised that he was getting too old to drive. Was still in excellent condition when he sold it on.

Passed my test back in 1992 in a J plate micra. Great little cars but if I had the choice, I’d take the mini all day long.

I remember my dad hiring a brand new E reg white micra from Mr Smith ‘the Nissan man’ in Manchester, was great going all the way down to Devon in it compared to our old T reg mini 850 we normally went in!

I have a Dacia - the upholstery keeps going grey and so I wet clean it 6 months later we are back to sq1 - I assume the foam in the seats gradually break down - you get what you pay for

Hey Lee! Hope you’re good. Back many moons ago when I was young all the elders in my family would buy either Datsuns or Toyotas. In fact one of my English school mates asked why do Asians buy Datsuns all the time! I didn’t understand at the time but now I do. It was the reliability. My late father bless him bought a Cortina Mk3 which was nothing but trouble. He soon went back to his Datsuns. I’d love that Micra, reliable, solid and from memory a go kart to drive. 😊

@@carukchannelDo you think it’s the colour, the brand or the actual model? I’m a massive fan of the Suzuki brand but, to be fair, it’s because almost every motorcycle I’ve owned has been a Suzuki! My wife reckons that apart from the Swift, she doesn’t think that Suzuki has much of an image at all. I’m sure they made little 4x4s, was it a Vitara? Either way, yes, if you knock max £250 off, it’ll fly. As you’ve said at some point, there’s a customer for every car.

Hi lee, the suspension has collapsed on that mini (due to old age) I've been doing those cars for the last 30 years, it needs new rubber cones, also, what is the gearbox like?....the spi minis were renowned for dropping the synchro on 2nd gear, I rebuild those gearboxes as well.

Without sounding pedantic, I'd call this Micra a MK 1.5... as the car had a slight restyling in 1985. The early grille was all black and flatter in appearance- also having different rear lights and bumpers !

Well lee they are a proper pair of gems Them micra k10s were absolutely brilliant cars they plod on forever with minimal maintenance the fuel economy is unbelievable as well I once drove my k10 from se London to Manchester & back & I think it cost me £ either way maybe a abit less As for the mini I cut my teeth on these I've had many From bottom range to top Rear subframes & seals can be a killer on them But she looks bang tidy Always regretted selling my last one. Great content mate keep it up 👍👏👊
