The car has no front side markers (the US-DOT amber colored corner lights), which means that the car was hit in the front in Mother Russia and someone put a European bumper on it.

Maybe you think that here is wild west in central and eastern Europe but they bother us a lot with imported cars from us coz of different regulations that we have to follow.. the real wild west is still oversee looking from here! In some cases when importing car homologation require to change even breaks pads and disks.. guess we can go faster here.. just joking.. Just want to say that front bumper could be replaced coz of import and EU law.. and the eventual accident is easiest to notice if you look at the gaps between body parts.. deformed chassis leave uneven gaps between parts..

@@3DThaRapstar I say go for it. Do you want a Continental Gt or a Flying Spur? These cars can be an absolute nightmare if your not careful. But if you buy a clean, low mileage local one with all the maintenance and repair records, then I would say your looking at a good vehicle. Also always get a pre purchase inspection from a Bentley dealership. I'm planning on buying a 2006 Continental Flying spur with only 53,000 kms on it (around 32,000 miles) that is a one owner vehicle, with all the maintenance history from the Bentley dealership, and all the major work has been done such as the air suspension system ($17,000) and much more, car was taken care of very well. Very hard to find older ones where I live that are clean. All of them in Ontario have been tossed around a lot, and many of them are ex rentals, only these older ones (2004-2007) everything above 2008's are all clean and low mileage.

Russia has low quality gas, low quality oil and coolant on retail. I know this quite well. Chances are you have scoring on the cylinder walls, worn bearings and if the engine was sucking in vaccuume then you will have had sand in the cylinders too. There was smoke coming from the exhaust pipes that looked like oil smoke, say RIP to the CATs. The suspension will be battered too because of russian roads. Best of luck. Oh and by the way, it uses the same suspension parts as an Audi A8 if you wanna same time bucks
@michaelg4926 жыл бұрын
The Bentley was built on the Audi A8 platform, so most suspension pieces are interchangeable
@thewojtek6 жыл бұрын
LOL. "Russia" and "original miles" should not occur within a single video, especially if the latter is preceded by "45000". Fortunately, Bentleys store their actual mileage not only within the instrument cluster, so any decent Bentley dealer will be able to check the actual mileage of the car. I give it around 80000 miles more.

@chrislemaster26956 жыл бұрын
No its easier to do with the digital ones all you have to do is buy a special scan tool you plug into the computer and select mileage set and you can reprogram the mileage to what ever you want. Look this up here on KZbin. There was a guy that got caught doing this in California. He brought a 1998 Civic off the original owner had 310,000 miles sold it for 700.00 and then two months later he saw it again on craigslist with 78,000 miles for 2800.00. He saved over 250,000 off the odometer.

Hey, VAG mechanic here... I'm pretty sure I know what's wrong with your engine: it sounds like it is in "Notlauf", that's a mode pretty much all German cars have where they heavily restrict power and become really ugly to drive to force the driver to see a repair shop once something is wrong. Usually, there is only a broken sensor causing this, should actually be an easy fix (maybe knock-, cam- or cranksensor?). 99% of the time when a VAG car does this, nothing is wrong with engine mechanically.. And before you drop anything out of your car, have him check the signal the ecu spits out towards the throttle body, that way you'll see if the ecu put itsself into "notlauf", usually in a VAG shop we can tell if that is the case through the diagnostics system, but I don't know if your mechanic can do that.
@coffelt6836 жыл бұрын
This is just my opinion so its not worth much but I figure if this mechanic can LS swap a porsche 996, maintain/fix an s600, and drop out a Bentley engine for service he should know about what your talking about.

Cheapest Bentley GT's on Manheim dealer-auctions go for well-over $30k with high-mileage. If it left the country for a decade with no records and sold WAY below market value, and is in abnormally-poor shape for a 45k miles car then the odometer was probably rolled back by at least 100-150k. I'd pull the electronic gauge-cluster with the odometer out and check its vin-markings to see if it has been swapped with a unit from an actual low-mileage car. Good luck with that Bentley, you'll need it!

From the sound of your engine, I believe that you may find more problems than plastic hoses. While the engine is down, you might consider replacing the timing chain and its guides, the serpentine belt along with the pulleys, the damper harmonic balancer and the tensioner. You may need intake manifold gaskets, and it may be time to do the valve cover gaskets, the head gaskets and the exhaust gaskets, too. I would think about replacing the fan assembly, the radiator, hoses and thermostat as well. I know this sounds like a lot of work - but with the engine out of the car - you do not want to have to remove it 2, 3 or 4 more times to do what ought to be seen as routine and preventative maintenance on a car with a dubious odo and a huge lacuna in its history. Good luck. If you get the drivetrain right, this Bentley will be a gem.

I'm sure it's just something small, just tap off those vacuum lines with a little $0.15 plug that you can get at Home Depot, and you get that thing running good as new. Nothing to worry about.

Btw, don't buy anything from Miami that's not from big car store. I live down here and used to work for Autotrader magazine. Most small dealers are big time crooks ! Mileage rollbacks because the title say exempt, put together cars (10 cars put into 1) rebuilt cars with titles sent out of state only to be retitled back in FL as clean title.

Nick Gorkes some states will allow you to run with no plate up front (in those states they might allow you to put it on there), but in my state you'll get pulled over and given a ticket. both plates need to be on the car (the actual mounting points), and they definitely wouldn't allow you to mount another countries plate on the front.
@NickGorkes6 жыл бұрын
madmax2069 I don't know about plate laws in Kansas but in PA I run a mixture of different countries plates up front without issue.

ANd electrical issues, possibly emissions issues, quality issues on panel fit and finish. Paint issues and corrosion issues. I would have paid 10k for that and swapped an LS in it. ROFL. Or hell just part the freaking thing out and get your money back.

The only issue we ever had with our gli was an o2 sensor went bad and there was an electrical issue which cause the dash to make the signal lights ticking noise randomly and uncontrollably

sorry to say thats more electrical problems than my 1993 foxbody with 70k has ever had. Worst thing was the starter and that just went out from age, $100 fix.

That is a bit less problems than my 400K mile Crownvictoria has. It has a sever keep alive wire that the previous owner cut and the wiper motor is dead on it. However it shifts well and runs very nicely. Considering that it has 400K miles of city driving. Its not too bad. Also the speedometer died on the vic at some point but that was replaced.

not really. you played yourself because you're paying for Hoovie to buy, sell and make a profit off this car. The only reason he makes these videos is $$$$. It may seem stupid for the viewers, but that's exactly the point he's tryna make. Your views are funding these projects, aka he's making lowkey bank. At the time of this video it's at 600k views, that's about atleast $10,000 give or take a few thousand. A lot because his content is family-friendly. Ads are easily put on his videos and the views just keep climbing up baby
