Well! It's official! We've gone full Alberta Mode here at DDSS! We needed another reliable truck for Dannie since the Caprice isn't really great for mountain driving. I'd been working on this Raptor Deal for a couple of weeks and finally pulled it off without telling Dannie. Our buddy Dallas came down for Christmas and dropped it off for her. This thing is far from perfect, but it'll do the trick! Now I need some metric tools!

My new to me 170,000 mile plus Duramax smelled like the inside of a Willie Nelson Honky Tonk! I replaced the bad blower motor and the cabin filters and it helped, but the smell is still there 50,000 miles later. You just learn to live with it or buy Royal Pine Little Tree Air Fresheners in 50 packs and stack them on the rear view mirror 10 deep. Congrats! It should be a great truck for you guys!

Get an ozone generator they're only $50. You can do a few 1 hour runs of that to deep clean organic stuff out of the interior.

Clean all the soft surfaces, like headliner and carpets, first. I've used charcoal to help absorb smells. Also, they make desiccant filled bags you can hang in the passenger compartment to absorb moisture & smells. If you keep pecking away at it, you'll get most of the smell out, eventually.

Cigarette glaze infused interiors can be freshened by using an ozone generator. Set the timer for 20mins, close up truck, put battery charger on, run blower on high for 60mins, open all doors and air out overnight. For bad smoke bombed vehicles do this once a week for 3 weeks. If you like the smell of coffee then you can finish the battle off with a coffee filter filled with your choice of fresh coffee, stapled shut so the grinds are contained. Works as a great compliment smell with leather :)

ive found the best way to get smells out is a table top uv light and set it for max. lock it up inside the truck over night, just be cautious when you open it up will slap you with ozone. but it will pull the smell out of all the upholstery and it wont come back.

Edit 😅 never mind i got to the part you said you bought shocks..2500$ ouch.. Fox has a rebuild kit for those shocks, 300$ does all 4. If you havnt already bought shocks maybe see about having those rebuilt (or try yourself but it requires a couple specific tools). I don't know about up north there but down here there's suspension shops that rebuild them.

I’ve been looking at shocks for mine. They have an exchange service deal out there. Buy a set send yours back so they can rebuild them. Toying with that idea. Shocks are actually fine on ours but planning ahead if we keep it.

I really like the raptor and it will make a great addition to the shop . The burgundy paint is like everything else its expensive but the color is limited to high end mustangs Lincoln and raptor models there is a standard color that is very similar but when applied it looks a lot different. I hope that Danni has many many years of enjoyment driving her new truck and it should make a great tow truck. With the back seat for the dogs hope the dogs are doing better

They make interior car freshener bombs specifically for cigarette smoke. Wipe down the whole interior with warm soapy water, windows too. Set it on your console run the A/C and pop the tab. Run the truck for about 20 minutes and it should be good.

Those fox shocks can be fully rebuilt. Try to find a good shop to have them fixed up and should be cheaper than replacing them, by far

Changing the cabin air filter goes a long way in getting rid of the smoke smell. Dead animal smell/odor eliminator (Amazon) or Simonz auto smell/bacteria eliminator. Also from any pharmacy or med supplier Pharma-C Odor Eliminator. It works excellent. It's used for heavy smoke, soiled linens, corpse smell ect. It works excellent. I've used it for several rat/mouse soiled cars.

For that smell start out by getting a couple of cans of Ozium and every time you get out of the truck give it a 3 or 4 seconds spray in the front and the back and shut the door during the winter when you start it up with a pickup is for the circulating air give it a couple second shot into their shut the door and wait a couple of minutes before you get in it'll help a lot with that smell

Get yourself one of those Deionizers machines , thay work wonders , you'll need to re-circulate the deionized air through the cabin for the last 10 minutes , follow the directions that come with the machine !!!

plenty of places online that fox shock rebuild ervice. you can ship em out to them to rebuild em, or they will send you all 4, and swap em out and then take urs as core. best way to do it. half the price of brand new.

Nice Truck , I bought a high mileage truck that reeked of cigarette smoke I vacuumed(headliner was the worst) cleaned and shampooed it then left small open jars of vinegar in it with the windows up for a week, It then smelt like vinegar but that went away fairly quick
