When you change your front shocks there are 3 different positions you can put the snap ring that locates the lower spring seat. The middle position makes the truck sit level unloaded, fyi. Amazing the number of people in the comments talking about all the failures of the 5.4l and thinking you will have those problems. This truck with it's 6.2l isn't prone to those failures. They don't spit plugs out, the plugs don't break when you change them, and they don't have the cam phaser/timing chain issues the 4.6's and 5.4's did. They got the 6.2l right.

9:30 on them i just loosen them till they spin then torch em off because they all do it. Quick tip though if you get a 18 or 17 whatever mm it is swivel socket. Not a swivel with a socket attached takes up room i take those off with a ingersoll air gun and you know how big them are lol. And that way sometimes you catch a break and itll come off without having to pull out the flame wrench

Bicarb soda & water will absorb odours, just Bicarb soda rubbed into the carpet left for a little while & then vacuum out , but you'll need to give everything a good scrub especially the headlining & ashtray. If the interior is leather a good leather conditioner will over power the Ciggy stench until you get your own smell into it. Alternatively just cart your puppies around in it, they will soon get their smell into the interior. All the best for the New Year, Keep up the good work. Cheers from Australia 👍😃

He didn't break any because it isn't a 5.4l, it's a 6.2l. It's the one Ford got right, these don't have nearly the cam phaser issues the 5.4l's have either.

On those ball joints, I always spray the exposed threads with something like WD40 then run a small wire brush all around the threads to clean them up a little before taking the nut off, especially if it's one of those locknuts. That helps to keep them from galling and spinning the ball joint before the nut comes off. Also, there is a hex on the end of those ball joint studs that you can put like a 10mm (or whatever size it is) 6-point socket and ratchet on, hold the nut with your big wrench, and turn the stud hex clockwise to run the nut off. Way easier!

The way the Y pipes are now causes the rear most manifold bolts to break and leak on all of the big 3s V8s. Just a recommendation but I would cut a section out of the y pipe a couple inches long. and slip a piece of Flex pipe in find where it is relaxed (not trying to stretch against the manifolds) and weld it back in. And hope you never have to replace the manifold gaskets. This is just my thoughts, having had to replace many gaskets on the V8s. Figure a 60 insert flex pipe is probably less frustration than replacing manifold gaskets and pulling studs from engine. Should make them last longer but not forever...

I had a '68 F-250 back in the 1990s and early 2000s. Great truck, should have kept it. Four barrel 390/C6/Dana 60 limited slip, 2 wheel drive, bulletproof Twin-I-Beam front suspension, 16 1/2 wheels, commercial 6 ply tires, 2 doors, bench seat, 8 foot bed. NO RUST Arizona truck. Made out of armor plated steel. No metric anything. Got 6 mpg in town. ALL Ford engines with aluminum heads have problems with spark plug threads.
