@@starwf07 Its easy if its dust particles and you are using just dry swab, spit etc.. can be very hard to get off, it just smears to the sensor, also sensor cleaning fluid itself leaves streaks, it can be long process if you have eagle vision and you are very picky about the sensor :D. But yeah, the glass is virtually impossible to scratch, unless there is sand particles on it, and you are scrubbing it with sensor swab.

Guys it’s not a big deal at all. I clean mine every week or two. You buy the cleaning swabs, put a drop of the cleaning fluid on it and just wipe it whenever you do get a spot. I’d rather have the access to the sensor than a DSLR that you have to send off to get cleaned. I’m more paranoid swapping out my contact lens in my eye.

Having both a7iii, a9 and a7r4, I can say that there are advantages of the a7iii over the a9. For example, 2 extra stops of dynamic range. Twice as fast mechanical shutter (you need that sometimes even on a9!). A9ii improves the dynamic range with about 1 stop. But the AF is sooooo good on a9 even in video when shooting shallow depth of field. 60 calculations per second helps. A7iii does 20.

Agree 100%.. As much as I'd love to pickup a A1 I can't bring myself to that $6500 price tag considering I do produce an income to do it but I just don't need 8K or some of the other features.. I'm hoping now that the AP and other world news groups are using Sony they will release an a9III that has some of the video features and color profiles so we have that mid-level flag ship with 30+fps and be somewhere like $4500-47695

Cameras like the a9 will only become better deals as time goes on. With normal cameras the older they are, the more they're used the more you have to be careful because the shutter is more likely to be at the end of its life. However, with cameras like the a9 that are almost always used with the electronic shutter, there really isn't a downside of getting one, no matter how old it is
@mavfan1
@mavfan1 4 жыл бұрын
It's relatively cheap to have the manufacturer replace the shutter on an older model. I had a 5D Mk II whose shutter wore out after about 5 years and it was about $300 to have a new shutter installed. People worry too much about shutter count. Repair is easy.
@CKramburglar
@CKramburglar 4 жыл бұрын
$300 is $300. Not to mention you’re out your camera while it’s away. It’s not the end of the world, but if you can avoid it all together then why wouldn’t you? Especially if you get a camera like the a9 out of it
@youuuuuuuuuuutube

That's an amazing deal, lucky you! I have the A9, and also that 85mm f1.8 lens. Using this camera is like using a gadget from the future, it's that good. By the way, the shutter count only count the mechanical counts, because this shutter will wear off, like all cameras, but the electronic shutter is limitless, and people use it 95-99% of the time, so that explains why the seller only had 7000 shutter actuations, he probably took 100x more photos with the electronic shutter.

Hi Arthur, Congrats! I thought I got a good deal last month for $2500 with tax and shipping. The seller barely used it so it had less than a 100 shutter count and was in mint condition, with a lot of accessories that were never used. I started out with the A73 and was impressed with it but the A9 is crazy fast as you said so I sold off the A73. For my use cases, I think the A9 is not only for fast sports and wildlife, but with family outings, my family and friends are camera shy so I just set it on silent and use my zoom lenses and never miss a moment. For portrait work, I rarely miss a perfect shot. If you have other EF lenses like I do, I used it for stills with zoom and primes lenses + MC-11 adapter and af is even faster than my EOSR. I agree without picture profiles, the downsampling still makes the 4k so crisp and sharp. If you haven’t tried out the Creative Style presets, try it. I use the Autumn leaves (learned from Chris Brockhurst) and that color preset is not bad. Have fun with the A9 and stay safe!

Wow you've really scored on that one! Not just with the initial price, but with the accessories you received with it as well as their resale value! Amazing. However being an aps-c user like myself (a6600), I have to wonder if this means that you are either going to cover both aps-c lenses and full frame or leave the aps-c world behind and move to full frame only? It'd be a shame if you decide on the latter but I wouldn't blame you either, you really have done well with that price and your video reviews are excellent. I was always hoping you might try for a comparison between the Sigma 16mm F1.4 and the Samyang/Rokinon 16mm F2 (manual focus) - just thought I'd drop that thought in there! It seems like no one has done this. Thanks.

The A9's real standout is how fast it recalculates focus while tracking due to that amazing stacked sensor. All other models can talk about 'real time tracking' but nothing focusses on something moving quickly like an A9 or A9ii. The keeper rate will always be higher for bird in flight or fast sports. I think your video could have stressed this more and shown examples of it's strongest plus point.

one of the main things the A9 has over the A7III is the real time face tracking in video too, which I wish my A7iii had. Picture profiles are overrated anyhow. At the time of me getting the a7iii the A9 was out of my budget but with the new used prices it is a way better camera. I do still like the A7iii.

does this mean you will get addicted to full frame and no more apsc videos? I've heard once you go FF you don't go back. what lens did you use by the way?

See the video description for lens. He doesn't have choice. Sony Apsc scene is so stale that he needs to move away from that area to make more content. He even had to pair many FF lenses to apsc body for recent videos.

Judging from the wearing of the mount, it is fair to say that the shutter count has been changed by some software.

4:15 seconds of footage, with no lens or even a lens cap??? Did the a6000 not teach you about the Sony dust gathering creatures that live inside of Mirrorless?

I'm about to get an a9 from 2019 with 68k shuttercount on it for 1600usd. Just a little concern about the shuttercount. Have the same offer with a7riii(2k shuttercount)and a7iii with vertical grip and extra battery(2k shuttercount) for 1500. Just thinking which offer to grab. Will shoot events, wedding, portraits and landscapes. Maybe some sports for my son.

We just bought one for 1699 Euros, I love it! It is so much better for birds in flight than my a6400. I even could activate the guaranty service from sony for three years.

I never do understand why I see in many videos from many KZbinrs why they always have the sensor exposed like that, I always have my camera body facing down when changing a lens and if I am having a quick glimpse to check if I need to use my blower if any dust is on sensor etc. Is it not just safer and better to leave the body cap on the camera, that's the hole point of a body cap after all. Otherwise good content as usual.

OK, been clear from the case that this is/was the camera for fast sports shooters. Which of the A7s, released at about the same time as the A9 would be great buying for most non-sport shooters. Then, to get the best results from the A9, you need premium glass, at what cost, if not top glass the lens just won't be up to it. Look at the complaints from new owners of the Canon 90D with its 32mp sensor. More than a few Canon lens just don't have the resolving power to cope with what the very large, for APS-C cameras, puts out.

How do you afford so many cameras?
@alexandrzatonsky
@alexandrzatonsky 4 жыл бұрын
I disagree. Already have A7iii, RX100V and just sold a6300. All of that cameras has silent mode, RX100V also have stacked sensor as A9 did, but can shoot even faster, at 24fps with AF. I used fast silent burst mode just for testing, never in real shooting. BTW using electronic shutter reduces pictures bit depth, and can introduce rolling shutter. Lack of picture profile is a dealbreaker for me. Also how did you like tamron 28-75 AF performance with A9? I found it's pretty laggy on A7iii and a6300.
