Probably been Hit. Hood out of alignment, as is the cladding there and in the passenger side a pillar where the fender meets the door it has what we call an "a gap" It's a smaller gap at the top then it gets bigger.

When I was in high school a guy I know got his grandmother to buy him a new syclone. I saw him race a new Z28. He gave the Z28 a couple of car lengths and beat him by several more. I worked at the gas station and he would stop in. The interior was standard S10 but the ground effects totally changed the outside. It was just cool.

I had an Eldorado and Baritz, (misspelling?) pimped to the gills and back again with top options for their time. The burgundy Eldorado trim on the passenger side was off by almost 1/2” on the door from the body and the dark blue with stainless skirts and roof had half a box of sockets and the impact gun under the back seat. We couldn’t figure out why the center hump was so much higher then on the burgundy car until we pulled the seat and found all those tools from the factory. QC was certainly hit or miss back then so it’s entirely likely there was no accident especially when my “high-end” cars had a few. We couldn’t find a fitting for the impact gun so we re-plumbed it and it still worked. Kinda crappy, cheapo Harbour Freight modern gun is better.

In 1994 I was driving a POS Saturn sedan delivering wings. I was at a red light (second in line) and suddenly I heard this thunder, and there was smoke EVERYWHERE! A GMC Syclone (the truck version of Hoovies Typhoon) was lighting up the tires as the light turned green. I was like WTF, trucks can't do that?!?!? Had no idea what it was, until I asked some friends about it (no internet back then). Was an awesome show of power. Great video!!!

I bought and owned #604 GMC Syclone, I had it for quite a while made many upgrades,such as ZR1 wheels from 90 "King of the Hill" corvette,much bigger turbo with NOS upgraded sterio, cladding painted n clesred black to match upper paint,custom purple Sy decals,neon, serious audio system!!it was the hottest ride back in the day in RI!!Ended up selling it to a gentleman in LasVegas in 2012.The comment u made of the Sy being faster than the Ty "because it was a pickup n it was lighter"is not actually correct! If you do the research,the Sy was only 200lbs lighter than the Ty!!!,so Dyno tests later on showed that it actually did have a lil more hp n torque due to some differences.Congrats on your piece of GMC history,The plate ""USA 1" Does rightfully belong on them. Sy was 0-60 in 4.1 sec.in the rain tested in early 91! 2994, Sy made in 91 1year n Ty very rare also but made for a few years .nice vid,brought back some serious memories of my younger years!my best friend had a white 93Ty we had alot of fun showing them off.

I had the same issue with my air. It turned out to just be the ground wire for the blower fan. The ground was under the hood on the passenger side near the fire wall. Hope that helps.

I would point out the mismatch between the right side of the bumper cover and the body cladding but having seen the exact same issue on a showroom new one... Aslo, having owned three S-10 trucks and a Blazer I can attest that the AC controls always break and so do the transmissions.

I pointed that out too, but this ain't a mismatch. The headlight is off, and the blinker is falling in. The hood isn't aligned on that side either. Definitely previous damage. Also curious that the passenger seat was reupholstered/replaced. Finally at the end of the video 11:19, you can see the rear passenger moulding is off too, but that could be age... looks like a bad accident overall though.

Fun fact: The Typhoon chassis obviously wasn't designed to handle this much power, but without raising the price or the help of modern electronic stability control GM only had two options to make it stable at high speeds. They could stiffen up the suspension until it made the Corvette look soft allowing it to respond to bumps quickly enough to stayed settled, or they could just cheat by giving it lots of understeer so it would keep going in a safe and stable straight line while the comfortable suspension played catch up. This means that idiots can launch it in the rain without spinning out into a crowd, but the quick turn in just makes the limit of grip hit more suddenly and once it does you'll be going straight until you're nearly stopped. Bonus Fact: This is exactly what American manufacturers did with all the cheap muscle cars in the 60's after the Corvair made people scared of unstable cars, and it's what gives American sports cars their reputation for poor handling.

I absolutely LOVE Typhoons! They are bad ass. All wheel drive sitting on the Astro van chassis . Parts are so hard to get for it. You have to be a registered OWNER of one just to get parts special to that vehicle. You have to prove you are a true owner of one. I like the white ones, but this color is pretty cool too.

I live real close to the former Buick engineer that still has his prototype truck he built for the typhoon project. Up until a few year back he still used his prototype he made as a shop truck . Its a gnx powered s15. The guy is still real into turbo Buicks and has guys bringing t types and gnx's from all over to have him work on them. I had my th400 for my 401 gremlin built by him. When I went to pick it up I got a look at all the 70's and 80's prototype turbo Buick goodies he had stashed around. The guy goes way back into Buick turbo days from the 70's. Fun stuff and quite a character.
