Hey Rob, not sure if you did this or not but if you put aqua soil in mesh bags and then sand on top it will prevent the two from mixing, keeping the tanks cleaner. Also the plants can send their roots down threw the sand into the mesh for the nutrients and grow. Will save you some money in the long haul. Also will give the bottoms of your tank some padding when you go to do your scapes with the rocks and heavier items that you may use. Less likely to break glass if there's a pad in case something drops, accidents happen. Look up Md Fish tanks on KZbin if you want to get an idea of what I'm talking about here.

Rob, I don't know when putting soil in tanks started cos when I used to keep fish many years ago it was normal just to have gravel on the bottom. Plants grew well enough rooted in it, sometimes too well and needed thinning out or were too big. Amazon Swords produce runners with smaller plants on them and so do the Cryptocorynes. You could get plants from where you go fishing too. There are often loads.

I love your channel and I have been watching since you worked for Bass Fishing ... but you seem to abuse fish for views. You get wild fish and put them into naked 40 gallon tanks.. you ... seem cheap, and rushed... you act like ..it was a mystery reevaluation, that the fish got prayed on from a bird when you had them open top... outside.. with no lid... you catch fish and forget to put water in the "keeper" bucket.. you abuse fish. . the reaon that giant catfish wont eat? is because you have her in jail let it go. if you keep wild fish.. stop being so lazy and cheap and make "real" environments for them. .

Instead of having tons of tanks and adding more each video you could cut it in half and take the money you would have spent on more fish and tanks to properly care for the fish you already have… I dunno, I think saying you are abusing the fish is a little harsh but I get what they are saying because I think a lot of people are getting the same impression.
