I found a brand new white take-off bed for $750. It's been a great truck. Not nearly as pretty as the new ones, but it can do 90+% of what that one can do. I paid cash for it. For what it’s worth, I have an 01 7.3 and have driven the new 6.7s quite a bit towing heavy for work and they hardly compare. The new ones pull faster, stop faster and are more comfortable. Congratulations on the new truck purchase. You went with the best option! The 1 ton with the 3” receiver hitch comes with a 3” to 2.5” reducer insert that works great. You can ask so get the 2” reducer as well. Also I’ve driven every brand of diesel truck in an actual heavy duty application (Both personally and in a fleet environment) and the ford had the best drive train and Diesel (most horsepower and torque) engine option on the market. The undercarriage/suspension on the GM’s “do not” hold up to heavy duty and off-road work. Our company trucks always ended up in the shop for suspension and steering issues. The dodge was always in the shop for engine/exhaust issues and the body doesn’t hold up. I do agree the dodge currently has the best interior can’t speak to the 2024 interior as I haven’t seen it yet. Really wished Ford would step up their interiors, they’ve done it with the Diesel engine, undercarriage and exterior looks. Why not go the extra mile and give it the best interior as well. The fuel economy that truck will improve some once the Diesel engine breaks in. Mine gets 20-21 on the highway not towing. Tuned and DPF/EGR deleted it’s getting around 25 and I don’t have to worry about stupid exhaust issues and it doesn’t hurt my engine either. If you haven’t see what the DPF/EGR systems do to your Diesel engine you should look it up. Looked like tar sludge!

28 years ago I bought my first house. It was 1800 sq ft 3 bedroom, 2 bath, an office / den on 1/3 of an acre. I paid $55K for it. Sorry but I’ll never ever pay more for any vehicle that cost more than my first house. We could definitely afford to buy it now, but it’s the principle of the thing. I do have a 2011 Ford Ranger XLT super cab 4X4, LSD, skid plates, running boards, tow pkg, custom wheels, custom 2 tone paint (silver over red metallic), custom interior colors to match the exterior paint colors, LineX spray in bed liner, air shocks on the rear so that it doesn’t sag when hauling a heavy load. Before adding a K&N intake and a FlowMaster exhaust system I was getting 19 mpg on the freeway with the cruise set on 75mph. I now get 23mpg. We mainly use our Ranger for work around our property so it only has 35K original miles. This is our 4th Ranger. I’m sure family will be fighting over it when we’re dead and gone. Diesel fuel is getting harder to find so we’ve had to park most of our diesel farm trucks. In fact diesel is so hard to come by that we’ve had change from growing summer and winter wheat to raising beef, hogs and sheep. We can’t get enough diesel to run our columbines. All in all, I’m glad you bought the truck of your dreams

TL;DR he didn't want to pay taxes on the money he made selling the old shop, so he dumped money into a new truck since the new shop fell through. I'll be surprised if he keeps it more than a year
@WatchJRGo2 жыл бұрын
Correct but you can't just bonus depreciate a truck and then sell it... I'm keeping this for at least 5 years. It's not like it cost me anymore than the last one I kept for 3 years 🤷♂️
@CowboyDave072 жыл бұрын
@@WatchJRGo Hey not bashing ya, it's a smart move. Also, has it really been 3 years? Damn, seems like you trade up so quick these days. Reserve that for Bentleys and McLarens I guess lmao

I recently bought a new truck and after looking at dodges and fords, ended up with a GMC AT4. I like the interior, it does everything i need. Not a fan of the dodge powertrain and having owned plenty of fords and ford trucks in particular, i was ready for something different. After driving the AT4 with the 6.2, the looks and performance got the best of me, and I get 24 mpg on the highway.

So pumped!😂 As he takes the 65 year old stick gearshift ranch in his hand and flex it into the park position instead of having a new stick shift position that we all wanted 10 years ago no big deal that’ll come out in the next €190,000 truck it’s all good

When you are driving, you can click the camera button, and it will pull up the bed camera and stay there, or you can put it on the smaller split screen. I have the 2022 f150 lariat and use the bed camera the same way. But for mine, it's the worst quality camera out of all on the truck, but it's still nice to have it.

Fix or repair daily. Just kidding. I bought my F150 new in '96 and put 300,000 miles on it. I loved that truck. It's 16 yrs later since we parted company and I still miss it. Donated it to a voc tech high school with an auto repair shop across the street from my seniors apt and left it parked outside with a note inside giving the shop teacher its history.. The teacher called me up, shocked that it had started right up for him and still ran perfectly. My crystal ball sees a wrap coming in someone's future..
