I "bought" this for $17NZD ($10USD) as I claimed the warranty on my old GPX and got instore credit, luckily there was a sale so I only ended up paying the difference. I reckon $17 for a brand new mouse is pretty good after I had the other mouse for almost 2 years.

The scroll wheel is the same, but not the encoder. The new encoder have really weak steps and lack tactility. Idk if your GPX 1 encoder is really worn or you miss-spoke. The new bottom skate is improved because you want the skate to be as far out on the edges as possible for maximum stability. Think of it like a table, you don't want the legs to sit towards the middle. How much this does in practice? Probably not much but it's still an improvement. Especially with third-party manufacturers who doesn't have as tight tolerances as Logitech, their mouse feet are rarely completely flat, not even the stock Logitech skates are. Even the bottom plate of the mice rarely are, and your mousepad even. This means that on the GPX 1, the parts of the skate that doesn't sit towards the edges of the mouse could be where you're making contact. So in that case it would be like having a table with it's legs towards the middle, and you will not be as stable. Just an example. I wish they kept the original scroll encoder (that had firm steps) but I guess they wanted to make it quiet because the normies have asked for that :)

So you're reviewing a brand new product and deducting points because it took engineers a long time to put on a USB-C port on it? That's a great way to start. Not. I do agree that it is inexplicable that it took Logitech to move up to a USB-C connection, but how is this relevant to the review of a product as a whole?

This shit is so incredibly irrelevant for a fucking mouse it drives me insane. Not to mention that 90% of usbc mice nowadays have a semi proprietary connection anyways cause they have some form of physical “bay” that the cable slots into that doesnt fit standard usbc cables. I keep shilling razer in these comments, but from my experience, I think that Deathadder V3 Pro has the best Scrollwheel. Tensioned to what I would consider perfection, and it doesn't have suffer from "Unintentional Jumps" that happen in games like Apex where you bind spacebar to your scrollwheel up or scrollwheel down. It also has a stable MMB Click that doesn't cause any unintentional scrolling, unlike the Viper V2 Pro. That being said, I have only ever touched Razer, Corsair and Logitech products so I can only make recommendations from them, since I'd feel bad recommending things I haven't personally tried and vouched for! And well... I tend not to recommend Corsair mice because they have yet to catch up to the "lightweight" meta that everyone is trying to get the piece of, even if Razer and Logitech is dominating.

Logitech bin their switches so that similarly weighted switches are paired with each other, so that there's not 2 different click forces on mouse1/2. That means some copies will have lighter switches and some will have heavier ones, your copy was probably from the light bin. How they do it in the GPX 2 tho I'm not sure. Maybe better tolerances, but probably it's the same there. That's why some complain about the GPX 2 having much heavier clicks and some say they are lighter.

The Superlight shape is generally speaking a bit lower than the G502, in terms of height, and obviously it's more shaped like a long egg, but can fit most if not all grip types, so depending on your hand size that could be a deal breaker. And personally, I would recommend the GPX2 if you don't mind the heavier clicks, but in return you don't get doubleclicking whatsoever, however if you don't ind tinkering around and possibly replacing the switches in your GPX, I think the GPX1 is a solid choice still, especially if you can get it at a lower price.

HOWEVER, we also have to take into account the legacy of the Deathadder lineup, because historically they have been contenders for being "Comfort King", alongside other mice like Zowie, simply because of how they fit firmly in your grip. I'd ask myself these things when picking between two options: - Do I naturally want to use an Ergo Shape or an Ambi Shape? When it comes to comparing these kinds of mice, the only actual concern besides small nit picks with the featureset it's important for you to remember that Shape is King. Hope this helps :)

The 403 came with an optional weight that isn't included, which is sad to see that logitech doesn't do that with other mice. I like the heavier back it gives. luckily they are interchangeable with the superflight, so you can put the 403 weight in the superflight if you want. the clicks on the left/right buttons are the loudest I've ever heard on any mouse ever. I can hear the clicks even when listening to music with headphones on. the 403 clicks in comparison are inaudible. imo, buying a new 403 every year is a better option than buying the superflight 2, considering it's three times the price as the 403. the things you said about polling rates is wrong. it makes a difference for latency.
@morten1811 Жыл бұрын
You know what, fair point. While I do somewhat agree with what you're saying, I still HIGHLY doubt that the latency difference between 1k hz vs 2k hz polling rate is that marginally bigger as to be worth to include it or use it as a consumer when you are "bottlenecked" by the display anyway. Based on what I've looked up and seen across various forums, videoes and reddit posts is that the jump between those two polling rates are not that big. Obviously, not everybody's got the best testing methodology, and a lot of the testing methodology boils down to "I feel the difference" or "I don't feel the difference" which to me tells me that it's somewhere in between placebo and reality.
@Wolf-ls1wt Жыл бұрын
@@morten1811 I would agree its just a marketing thing and not sth important but not because of the hz of the display. One big problem seems tp be that some cpus are not able to supprt 4k or even 8k. And some games do stutter even with the best cpus. So for me 2k seems like the sweetspot with a lil bit of improvement but it is for sure not necessary and 1k will be just fine just a thing for us nerds to be happy about
@morten1811 Жыл бұрын
@@Wolf-ls1wt Well there's multiple layers to this: Obviously, some CPUs simply cannot keep up with it, but another thing is that higher than 1khz polling rate also cripples battery life. Stuff like a DAv3 with the 4khz dongle barely lasts 3 days of heavy use, if not lower. Or as you mentioned, if the game can even handle it. And yeah absolutely, I think that as a tech enthusiast it should be embraced that we get more performance to squeeze out, or more to play with, but I think at its core it is marketing speak, and therefore I will advocate for it as such. I have a Razer 8khz mouse with an i5 13600k and 4070, some of my settings needed to be tweaked so I won't experience frame stutters/drops when playing on 4k-8k, There is a noticeable difference in delay/latency when switching between 1k-8k. For example, editing in a game like Fortnite is one of the most noticeable things that are affected by this. The sensitivity when tracking is substantially smoother when comparing 1k to 4k and even 4k to 8k. 2k, not so much. I want to say clicks feel more responsive but I don't know if it is a placebo, however, when selecting edits in Fortnite, my click timing seems faster when trying to time an edit.@@morten1811

Um, I wish I found this video sooner. I have allready bought the superlight 2, I searched for reviews before ordering it but sadnly didn't see this one. I got a crappy old razer mouse and wannted to upgrade, wish I saw this video sooner. The mouse is on it;s way and there's nothing I can do :,( also why did it take 5 YEARS! to get a USB c port? this isn't rocket Science. my theory is this just wasn't on there prioritizes even though it should of been.

I do not know, because I didn't know that mouse existed until you told me about it haha But based on the specsheets alone, unless you truly want the shape or believe in the brand, I'd suggest grabbing a more "known" lighter weight mouse like a Viper V2 Pro for instance.
@Dr.WhetFarts Жыл бұрын
Who cares if its USB-C or not. Like seriously. You use the extension cable and place the reciever close to the mouse. Then you use the cable when its dead. Never understood this problem people have and I had both OG and Superlight.

i did and the shape is slightly different but you will be able to adjust easily. make sure to match the dpis as I didn't and had trouble aiming due to a slightly slower dpi. also, the stock feet on the g pro x superlight 2 are terrible -- get like corepad or something. my stock feet were so scratchy compared to the model o

anyway to mod the sidebuttons so they dont get "moushy"?

To my knowledge, there is none, however surely somebody who is braver than me and aren't afraid of doing destructive mods would have figured out a way. My best bet is some kind of Mouse Modding forum, or some kind of subreddit of that nature. Best of luck in your research!

Also also, a "difference" cannot be "exactly the same", and furthermore, you can't shed tears on the R&D third parties have to spend on, just because you like tweaking a product with third party components. That's just uncalled for.

What mouse would you recommend?
@morten1811 Жыл бұрын
Well... That depends really. At this point, any modern gaming mouse will be hardware-wise (Sensor, etc.) Just fine for any game and task. But outside of name brand mice, I haven't personally tried anything. I hear that the Ninjutso Sora is pretty good. Darmoshark 4K (I think it's called?) allegedly is also really good. And then obviously, something like a Viper V2 or Deathadder V3 if you want something a little more familiar (Deathadder shape) or if you believe in the principals of RocketJumpNinja that Smaller Mouse = Better Aim (Viper)

I don't entirely recall if I mentioned it in the video or if I scrapped it in editing, but I think the side buttons here are ever so slightly more crisp and less pre-travel on the initial click. Now I wouldn't call the side buttons as good as Razer's side buttons, but definitely close.

not true about dpi it does matter. dpi number telling you how accurate the sensor is not only how high you can go. same think with poling ratio.. what makes you make such a videos without basic knowledge of the product?? .. so its definitely not a marketing.. since you doing it publictly you should be obligated to check your facts before such a statements
