That Martin is along the lines of what I would love in an acoustic guitar: the size, shape, cedar top, slotted headstock, abalone, walnut. I love it. But it would be out of my price range.

That's a very nice 12 fret Jeremy! I have a 2015 Martin 0000-18S (12 fret slot head) that looks similar but has more traditional Adi top with Mahogany back and sides. Small logo on the front of the headstock and the CF Martin & Co stamp on the back of the headstock, a wide saddle belly bridge, and the same short pattern diamond and squares that your 000 has. It has the 1 13/16" neck similar to yours, but mine has an Ebony fingerboard. This is one that George Gruhn had made to celebrate the 45th anniversary (1970 - 2015) of the opening of his Nashville guitar store. It's a shame I can't post a picture in here, as it has very pretty Mahogany on the back and sides. No gold hardware, just a set of chrome Waverly's.

Hey Jeremy, may name is Gary and I’m from OZ, I just want to say how much I enjoy watching your videos. Like you, I’m a Martin nut!! While not been able to go to far up the lineup, my dream is to one day own a HD28 but now my D12e is keeping me very happy, and I do love it, she just keeps calling out to me for a play! Mate your inspiration to Guitar lover’s and player’s in further corners than you may realise. Keep up the job mate, cheers for now. 🙂

Jeremy, I think this one will very soon end up in the one that got away category. It sounds very, very good - special. The things you ding it for seem really superficial. It is beautiful. I certainly wouldn't call it weird, but unique. The sound quality gets a big check, however, if playability is an issue then I understand. Regardless, thanks for sharing it with us.

46mm on the nut is a big ask. As someone who plays classical/flamenco with and is fine with 52mm with nylon strings, 46mm is still a big ask. Mostly because of thumb-overing.

That guitar is a beauty in sound and appearance the quirks notwithstanding. It reminded me of my own Martin Custom Shop in some ways ... a 12 fret, slotted headstock (Square), 1 13/16 bone nut, Sitka top and Mahogany back and sides, and the body size is 0000 which is a fantastic body size. If you've never played a 12 fret 0000 you should ... such a lovely guitar to play.

A few years ago I sold 4 Martin guitars ranging from a 1929 0-28, excellent condition, through a 80s 000-28 in mint condition. I decided to “build” a custom shop Martin and made up my list, very similar to what you have. I handed the build sheet to a vintage shop with a close connection to Martin and never heard from them! What you have is beautiful and I’d be interested in purchasing it… let me know if you decide to sell it…

Jeremy, take a walk on the wild side! I have a custom Martin and also many “unique” custom guitars from small custom builders. Love them. My latest custom has an Englemann spruce top, ziricote back and sides with a Koa wedge in the back. Also Koa binding, gold Gotoh tuners with ebony buttons, ebony fingerboard and bridge. With basically a Martin style mahogany neck. Awesome. Another has a Port Orford cedar top with Black Limba back and sides. Many others with exotic woods. That is a fine Martin custom you have. A nice detour from the conventional Sitka/mahogany configuration. If you sell it, what are you expecting to get out of it?

This guitar sounds amazing. the logo and heel are not important to me. but... just when I was being amazed by overtones and clarity, I realized it was altered tuning, so it's hard to compare the sound. . I've never heard of a guitar being compared to food like that! What I look for in my dream guitar. 1. It has to look great, 2 it has amazing tone, and balanced tone 3, it feels great, ie not too much hand fatigue with bar chords, 4 intonation and buzz has to be right 5. not too heavy, 6, not ridiculous in price, but not so cheap that I keep wondering. 7. not too precious to play and share. By the way, your noodling is now up there. I think there is a relationship between how good the guitar is and how long you noodle for.

Jeremy, thank you for this video. 000 Martins are my favorite guitar and I’ve always loved cedar tops. This wood combo sounds amazing. I love my Martin 00015SM with slotted head stock and 1 3/4 nut. I’m a finger picker and the 1 3/4,works perfect. Not sure the larger but would work but since I started out on classical guitars, maybe. Love the sound, 12 fret, etc. I agree the rosewood heel cap and abalone don’t fit, but it is a cool guitar and truly one of a kind. Martins are my favorite

I've owned a solid cedar top dreadnought with ovangkol sides for many many years. It's not a Martin (its Korean made, very nicely), but it always has gotten compliments on its sound. $400 with case in 1995. The cedar with steel strings is really an amazing sound for both fingerpicking and chord strumming. It's subdued and strongly voiced at the same time, hard to describe really. The notes are clearly defined but not too sharp in any part of the bandwidth.

This guitar reminds of the 1960s listening to the folk recording artists like Peter, Paul and Mary hearing the warm tones of their instruments but knowing it is a steel stringed instrument. This guitar could easily perform solos on a recording of acoustic instruments. I can listen to Stephen Stills and CSNY playing this guitar in a concert in a solo performance. Or Peter White perhaps. But this guitar is not for the faint of heart. You know it is steel stringed. It is not for new age type meditation music, but for a beautiful concert of protest songs of the injustices of the world. It has that power to get its point across . Then a walk into the woods as you see the waterfalls and the trees being destroyed due to disrespect of the environment by people who do not care but are driven by money. Yes, this is what I hear and envision with this. Being in a concert for a common cause to better the world through friendship and music. This guitar is that guitar to do it. Pat with the 51 year old Favilla F5 and Gibson 1990 J-50 which has the soul the Martin has.

Ah!, the heel cap works IMO the Low E string seems like it needs to sit deeper into the nut. I would have liked a Red Cedar and Redwood or Cocobolo. In all yes it looks similar to my 2021 OOO15SM, BUT…. that’s the beauty of putting a guitar you love, like my 2013 GCPA4R in some one else’s hands. I love the SM but my other Martín is so delightful! I am fascinated with the norman blake ooo 28 12 frett slotted headstock om body shaped guitar. Not 000 12 ftett rounded shoulders, but the shoulders and lower bout of a 000 28 or 000 18. The belly or stick bridge is placed in the sweet spot of the lowrr bout of the guitar just like a regular 12 frett guitar. Neck profile, string spaceings at nut and saddle would be discretionary to fit the needs of the customer and luthier. No one wants to build an instrument like this. Martin built a handful of them some time ago. It is the only martin guitar that wss not designed by cf martin co. It was concieved by norman blake.

It did sound beautiful. But, as I've said before, you could make a banana sound good. (I'm thinking that might be because of the non-standard tuning?) The cedar top is unusual for a steel string guitar. I have a 1973 Yairi classical (nylon strings) with a cedar top and it's a canon! Very warm sounding. The walnut might be beautiful, but the black binding doesn't do it for me. Of all the guitars you've played, I think the Martin 000-28 modern deluxe is by far the best!! Get one of those.....

Good guitars Pal BUT they have always sounded too yhin for me. That's the square shoulder effect. I much prefer Gibsons slpoe shoulders. As a builder I notice that rounded shoulder on violins and othe string instruments. Your KZbin vids sound like one big ad for Martin. BTW I have met the man and talked details when he visited here ( Australia) in the early 80s. Please don't sound like a Martin salesman. Look at alternatives. I have made a dreadnought with herringbone from stewmac parts. I like the interior bracing= do you understand it? I have Taylor guitars that are asw good as the one I built in 2004.

My 53 OOO is a lot nicer and cost me half the price. hilarious. Stop pushing bullshit. Sounds like a taylor, barely has the martin tone, overly boomy, lacing middle and treble balance.
