When I was young (late 60"s early 70"s) my grandfather had something like that and used it around the farm. It was green and the the steering wheel look the same with the 4 wheels. Soon as I seen this it can back to me. I can remember him calling it his little argo. Might not be the same but sure did being back memories of papa,

Dude! The compression will go up when you put oil down the barrel, your reducing the volume of the combustion chamber if you don’t give it time to pass by the rings, remember it only passes through the ring gap! So reducing the area inside will increase the pressure. 😂 I was honestly waiting for you to set fire to this one as well by splashing fuel all around the carb and engine 😮
@firerod3074

That engine has to be missing some sheet metal around the head. There's no way it could cool run in that enclosure without a shroud.
@ScottSillis

No the fan housing directs airflow through the fins to keep it cool. Not all two strokes need a fan as long as the fins give enough surface area for correct heat dissipation.
@mitchellandrew3318

It's a single with a main fan. It's getting plenty air. But there is a metal enclosure for those motors I believe. If it was a twin I'd agree. Free air or not. Nothing pushing over they will melt down, twins will cook mag cylinder asap.

Is there a vacuum return nipple on the tank? If so run a tube from engine back to tank so it builds pressure and pushes fuel down to carb, hope I explained it well enough?

I could see adding some cross bracing underneath to stiffen it up. That might allow you to make it more off-road capable. All it would take is a little bracing and some fiberglass work, of course that would also ruin its collector value...

Looks like a lot of fun. Perhaps change the tires to some golf cart turf tires in the front. If you're going to try it in the water well new paddle tires in the back otherwise turf golf cart tires in the rear . Might help the ride some. Good running motor... wonder how well a newer 4 stroke like a Predator would be in it. Fab a frame and plexiglass windscreen just for cosmetic purposes. A little paint and some creative cosmetic items.. cheap radio and speakers.... yeah a lot of fun ... cross between a Argo, golf cart and there it a miniature dune buggy.... lot of fun. Loved it... Another cool thing to check base gasket leek put pressure gage on that crank vent tube. Spark plugs in or out it don't matter . Pull the cord or turn the key if the needle moves a lot back and forth it's fine. If the needle don't move its blowing past the broken or cracked base gasket from old and rott.

That vent should run the fuel pump. I'm sure you know how those pumps work off of vacuum. But that's how most older 2 strokes operate

That thing is awesome. It's similar to my friends terra jet. Makes me wonder if there's any terra jets for sale in your area so my friend and I can learn how to fix/ service his when you end up buying one and making a video lol they float like a boat and are 4x4 and have high/low, reverse and 2 neutrals with a 440cc 2 stroke motor.
