I rebuilt my 1990 FZR600 from 2021-2023 and found so many issues. Lots of electrical issues that needed a ton of research. It runs now and is nearly ready for the road again come spring. Enjoy your journey!

We did the same with an 81 Suzuki GS650gl but eventually ended up selling it. Liked that bike so much that we got a 77 GS750. Turns out there's two of us, so in came another GS750. Needless to say, we've got enough project bikes sitting around, so we're leaning towards actually selling this one as a running project.

Just now coming into the final stages of doing my 92 fzr and I can tell you it’s a amazing bike to work on and the Haynes manual has been a saviour

Nice. This one has just been sitting as the Suzuki GS750 restoration has been the main focus. But with that last video out, maybe we'll think about doing something with this again.

Dan and David, Did Dad pass you the suggestions from our friend on your side of the country, Forrest Kerns? He has a lot of experience with these 600s.

Yes he did. We will be sure to reach out and ask him questions as we dive deeper into this bike. Thanks a lot for watching and for all the comments and help.

On something that has not run in a long time be cautious - beside checking there's oil, you should always check the airbox, besides visitors the air filter foam crumbles and will get ingested. Also squirt some oil into the horribly dry cylinders before cranking, lube is always your friend.

Good tips and advice, I did peek in the air box before cranking it over to make sure it's empty. Eventually I did spray the cylinders and let it sit for a while to work it's magic

Check the pilot jets aren't clogged and that the carb idle adjuster screw isn't set high - but, as you say, there may be a vacuum leak, split rubbers or something - thank you - good stuff. Bet those psi readings have come up !

Thanks! I definitely should have checked compression after running it, I'm sure it freed up the rings. I took a closer look at those boots and they definitely need to be replaced

Hey mate just a question, how it was the compression in the cylinder filled with spray after? Did you made a new compression check? Thanks
@Dan_And_Daves_Garage6 ай бұрын
This was over 6 months ago so it's hard to recall exactly but I believe there was a small compression increase

In the SHORTS video, stated no history, if no title give breakdown of process of how you got a title for the bike. Thank you, great find.

Bike didn't come with a title, but since I live in New Hampshire I don't need it for anything from 1999 or older, I can just use the bill of sale from the auction.

I just started on a 1990 fzr600 hasnt ran in 17 years all I’ve done so far is rebuild the carb anything I should do before seeing if it will start?
@Dan_And_Daves_Garage9 ай бұрын
Change the oil and filter. Check fuel tank for any rust so you don't have rust going into the fresh carbs. Wouldn't hurt to let some oil sit in the cylinders and turn it by hand since it's super dry and can help loosen piston rings. Unless there's anything else wrong with it that's probably good enough

@@Dan_And_Daves_Garage ok thank you so much I’ll do that
