Difficult to find anything nice to say about this truck, did you go too cheap this time?
@drivedb7

Sheeeet. These days you’re lucky to find anything that runs and drives in that price range - let alone a 7.3 with a stick. If all he needs/wants is a work truck, this’ll fit the bill perfectly.
@tomsrensen9382

@@drivedb7 Why buy a project truck when you need a work truck, that's my point, regardless of price. If Tyler couldn't find time to enjoy the New Yorker, having to deal with a junk yard truck will leave him with even less time to work on the Mopars.

@@tomsrensen9382 That's the thing. Price IS a consideration. A person can be 150K in debt with a few strokes of a pen these days. I exist on a middle-income budget. I currently owe $500 in debt. That's it. I own everything I have free and clear. So, to get a $5,000+ truck I can either borrow the money and buy one, or I can buy one for half the price and do the cheap labor to make it decent, then have a paid for truck and no debt. Hope this clears it up.

I bought a '99 F350 SD, 4WD, crew cab in XLT trim and similar condition about 3 years ago from and estate- it sat in a field for at least 2.5 years in Central Oregon. Stripped it down, mechanicals first. All consumable mechanical parts were replace, re-did the rear axle seals & bearings (big diff cover as well), all the brake items except the MC & booster, radiator, AC compressor, dryer & condenser, alternator, P/S pump & lines, water pump, T-stat, full trans flush & deeper pan, fuel pump...everything. Then we stripped the body (glass, trim, handles, bumpers, everything) and it took 4 gallons of product to lay the base & clear. Did a navigation system, better speakers, scanner, switched the driving lights (350 watts, clear 7" lenses- centered in the grille) & fog lights (200 watts, 3" amber lenses - in the Warn bumper light pods toward the outside with the winch in the center). Did put in poly bushings & HD Moog end links for the sway bars, and along with the Bilstein shocks & new tires, it did improve the handling very noticeably. It's a great truck to haul & work with, even take everybody out in because it looks good. I have no reason to buy a different truck, and my total investment is about $20K. I hope this truck turns out similarly for you- the amount of money for a truck is just nuts...

The asking prices for these are way up there, more than what they are actually worth, but still a sound investment. Sounds like you have a nice truck!

@WhoSaidTyler yep - I find it nuts, and the complexity, along with the overall cheapening of materials, I wonder about the lack of trouble-free, long-term ownership with the vehicles made 2020-up

Same choice I made; I love the OBS trucks. First thing I did was chang the transmission oil pan for a deep pan and added an external cooler. That E4OD is weak and needs all the help it can get. Congratulations on the new truck!

And not bad it may need some cleaning and interior parts, but it doesn't have any rust except inside the passenger side front door on your f350, i have a 1500 2000 dodge ram laramie slt quad cab long bed 318 magnum V8 46 RE AT gloss black with most of a white pinstripe 1500 my truck has rust around the edges but good glass none broken or cracked, will need rockers but the inner rocker inner door jamb is still very much intact the floors are solid in this truck and it has decent interior.. with those 7.3 power stroke trucks it might just need a glow plug controller relay?! My truck is only a half ton 318 magnum V8, but I only gave $1,500 for mine almost two years ago now because of the front brake lines rusted and the it supposed to have a charging system failure a bad alternator and when the previous owners dropped the truck off we jumped it with a buddy of mine 04 Pontiac Grand Prix gtp and the truck stayed running until i turned the ignition off so that told me that the alternator was fine it was suffering from a ground issue somewhere..turns out that the battery was from 2007 and it was leaking down the side of the battery on the battery cable coming from the underhood power distribution center fuse block and it was about rotted in two, swapped out a new to me battery cable in good condition.and no more charging issues truck starts right up in 24 degree weather and when it comes to engine operating temperature it carries a consistent 60psi oil pressure and for what I gave for the truck i can't complain. It has a completely rebuilt front suspension and new torque converter and front pump and input shaft seal in the transmission and if you don't have your foot on the brake pedal and shift this truck into reverse it will start backing up, the transmission works great and for a 318 I would have to say that it runs strong!! I bought a new complete set of stainless steel brake lines in a kit specifically for the truck model and year i had from classic tube out of ohio and replaced every one of them under the front of the truck to up under the cab, and it will also need the dr rear door unfrozen the bottom latch is stuck im going to replace the lower latch on both sides once i get the door open and apparently they have this as a common thing with these second gen dodge ram quad cab trucks. You have one tough ford f350 there Tyler sir... And I still need to fix the muffler because it apparently had a annoying noise so they hacksawed the muffler off, i have to clean up the exhaust pipe so I can put the cherry bomb glass pack muffler on and then the exhaust pipe tubing and reconnect the factory tailpipe it's in good condition considering it is a northern Ohio truck since new, and I wasn't changing it truck had a guage cluster failure shortly after the rebuilt front suspension and the front pump and input shaft seal and the torque converter installed on the transmission, the cluster in it now everything works but it says 77k, the previous owners said it was a little after the front suspension rebuilt the cluster guages and lights started failing that was about 176k and the original owner manual it's in the glovebox of the truck has a oil change sticker on the back and says next service 244k

Love me a “Tyler buys another” video. I can’t believe all of the stuff they left behind in that old 7.3. Looking forward to some vids on this one. I was on the hunt for a 350 this time last year and gave up. FL trucks go for an absolute premium and most are all ragged out.

I think that you got a good deal. You have enough left from the budget that you mentioned in the last video, to make some repairs on it. The 7.3L is a much better engine than the 6.0L. You should be able to fix the leaky windshield with the 3M bedding caulking that you have.

@TylersNeighborhoodGarage
@TylersNeighborhoodGarage Жыл бұрын
So, there are none of those over there, not even imported as a used vehicle? My understanding is that the roads, especially in the towns in the UK are so narrow it would be a chore to drive this. At least you guys did get all the other kinds of diesels that we didn't get.
@SuperFIFTHGEAR
@SuperFIFTHGEAR Жыл бұрын
@@TylersNeighborhoodGarage That is true, I've just bought a 1997 Volvo V70 (same as your old red one) with the VW 2.5 TDi. I have seen some Ford trucks, most are the F150/250 in the 7th and 8th generation and are gas. There is the odd diesel one of those. I've seen a couple of duallys driving around but they are as almost as wide as the lane. Must admit I do prefer the older diesels. Most people here import the Chevy's of the same period. Oddly there are quite a few newer Dodge Ram's, the generation from the early 00's onwards (including the most recent), most of those are Hemi powered. Usually they're black, lifted, big wheels and a loud exhaust etc. You know the crowd associated with those. I did see an Imperial at a car show recently and thought of you. I did also see a Plymouth Scamp in the same green as your old Valiant which again made me think of you. Oh definitely, driving something like this in the towns in the UK would be awful. I drive a couple of old Volvo estates, which are considered huge here (at least in their length) and the problems I have with them, never fitting in parking spaces. Even finding a garage to store the cars in over the winter, the cars are longer than a standard UK garage (which is 16ft x 8ft). We did get more diesels, but unfortunately our government is trying to restrict their use and the roads/cities we can go into. Search for the London ULEZ if you're interested - other large cities in the UK (and other places in Europe) also have their own ULEZ standards. There are daily costs associated with driving diesels older than 2015 due to the additional NOx that they produce. Most people import Crown Vics, Impalas, things like Buick Roadmaster, and then the massive wagons and Cadillacs from the 70s are common. 1967-69 Mustangs are VERY common. Quite a few newer Camaros on the roads. We get the latest Ford Mustang (from 2015) here in RHD and with the 5.0. That's about it for our American car culture from what I've seen. Sweden and the Netherlands are supposed to have a massive American car scene.
