My 2004 F340 6.0 with the Zf6 manual transmission has been the best truck I’ve ever owned, I got it from the original owner with around 360,000 miles and it just crossed over 400,000. Every single thing on it works and it’s fun to drive, tows awesome too and I’d drive it anywhere, I drive it every single day. I’ve done some repairs to it and I am religious about maintenance such as oil and fuel filters but I’ve never done any headgasket work or other major stuff. These trucks are awesome to me because they’re like a modern Highboy, just enough amenities to make you plenty comfortable but not too complicated, and in my opinion pretty easy and cheap to work on.

If I was you, I would do the "Blue Spring" conversion for the fuel system. It's pretty cheap to do, and quite easy to install. I suggest this because it can save the HPFP (high pressure fuel pump). I don't think so, more likely the high pressure oil system needs to be bled or it has a leak. The 6.0 uses high pressure oil to fire the injectors.
@Robert-S- Жыл бұрын
All this engine needed was base oil pressure then the hpop kicks in and can fire the injectors. As others have said, soon as the oil pressure switch activated it was going to try to start... And it succeeded. If anything, from that startup especially if his guys got it running recently... There is a check valve issue probably an incorrect/aftermarket oil filter allowing the filter to drain back and require extended cranking to refill. Blue spring update is always a good thing to do, but fuel pressure was never the problem for the extended cranking in this video.
