I don't do much other than use it for getting around town and other short trips, but it runs like a top with 6,500 miles on it. Only change the oil like every other year and a new battery about every 4 years. Very worth the $1,100 I paid which included shipping.

The long clear plastic tube that comes in all the kits is for filling the battery. The short red one is the vent tube for the side of the battery and the long clear one is to fill it. 1- Title should come in the mail 3-4 weeks after (in some cases up to 2 months). 2- The smoke is probably just exhaust treatment (oil, to keep it from rusting). 3- Kick stand always disables bike, even in N. If you don't want that, you'd have to install the center stand. Almost all Chinese bikes do that. 4- Welds actually looked ok from what I can see. 5- What to do with it? Top speed, range, MPG! 6- Swap sprockets (rebelgears gets you nearly all custom front and rear sprockets at a budget). Quite often with a 1 tooth taller front, and a 3 to 10 tooth smaller rear, you can get much higher top speed, and better highway MPG, if you hit it right at the torque band on the highway! I like the looks, but not too fond of the 150 (or less) cc. It's too small for USA.

I bought one a while back and fixed all the issues before even riding it for the first time. Most of the parts are clones of a honda cg230cc and a yamaha xg250 and xt250. I changed out all the crap parts like the brakes, carb, handlebars, all the lights, wiring harness, chain, sprockets, spark plug, etc. I stiffened and rebuilt the suspension and reinforced the frame with gussets and fixed the shitty welds. I added a few performance parts and rebuilt the exhaust to open it up. Also repainted it. Some of the parts I had from other bikes I never installed so in all I only spent just under 2k on it. I drove the bike for two years to work while I worked on my other project vehicles then sold it for 1800. I kinda miss that lil bike. I ordered it online for my wife to learn to ride it but when I got done building it she didn't want to learn anymore so I kept it. It was a huge hassle however trying to get it registered and a titled because no one at the dmv here had ever dealt with a Chinese bike, they couldn't even read the name on the mso which took a month to get.

When everything is made in China, Malaysia, Indonesia and India, is it really quesiontable any more? Even the Japanese companies don't manufacture in Japan.

I've had one for about 3 years, and I love it. I recently took mine about 100 miles off road with a friend on a KLX. After awhile we changed bikes, and I couldn't wait to get back on the Magician. Short legs and 35" seats don't mix very well. The only thing that I'm thinking of changing is the front tire for something better for off road.

Awesome do a test old vs new chinese. Like an xr400 vs a chinese copie. I bet you the xrs win their the strongest bike ever. I did some rebuild series on xr400's and they surprise me every time how easy it is to work on.

I had to sell off all my bikes over six years ago when my wife became ill. Had to pay medical bills for her kidney failure. And move across country to be near transplant specialists. Been trying to save for a bike fund but have been coming up just shy of getting a Dina wide glide used and while searching within my budget something always comes up that is needed and the funds go to that. So a couple months ago I decided to purchase this bike to ride. It is what it is. But with some love and care it is just like any bike. Fun to ride. That is the bottom line. When my wife is feeling better it will be a good bike for her to get back on two wheels as well. I enjoy any ride. Even if my little brother laughes at me from his soft tail springer. Have fun and be safe everyone

It doesn't look THAT bad to me. Personally, I'd still take this over a Harley.

If anyone has one for 600$ or less I’ll take it. But anyway, Shaun the reason I think it was smoking is because the engine doesn’t come with real oil in it, they usually come with “shipping oil” that u need to drain and replace w real oil
@suzukiterminator3 жыл бұрын
Excellent good thinking
@crudboy123 жыл бұрын
That's true but it's not why it's smoking. Smoke looks like it's just the fresh paint on the header off gassing.
@ek87103 жыл бұрын
Smoke was from high temperature paint on the exhaust that needs to "bake" on.

MOTOCHEEZ bought a Magician a few years back. It went through him and at least a couple of his friends who bought it, sold it, etc. After 10,000 miles, the current owner brought it back to Motocheez to check out. It had obviously been abused like crazy, one guy having used it as a dirt bike, but was still going strong.

When the front wheel fell on the disc brake, I thought: My goodness, how can you be so scatterbrained. But later you kick the bike over? I don't think it's funny. It may be a cheap Chinese bike, but it took someone work to make it and a lot of resources. There must be millions of people on earth for whom even this cheap bike is a luxury dream. What should they think about Americans who act like that?
