It has been misclassified in my opinion. On these cheaper little cars they are writing them off from photos alone, quite often an engineer will never have inspected it. They probably saw a few creases on the rear quarter and decided to opt for CAT S to be safe. Looks like a nice little project, hope we get to see the numbers on it when you're done!

I brought a Ford c max same thing cat s but all it needed was a rear bumper, these days they don't look at the car personly they cat it from pics.

They categorised it as a Cat S due to the N/S quarter panel damage.

I thought cat s was anything welded or riveted to the chassis that is damaged is cat s, front wing mount tab is spot welded on and thats bent so thats enough to Cat s it. But a load of stuff is S these days.

The Insurance Assessor could have made a mistake thinking the rear quarter panel would have to be replaced or there was damage the wheel arch. Assessor 0-1 Dee. 😃😃

Yes Dee. Excellent choice. Easy fix…now then, there’s no more panel beating with dealerships so they simply replace panels. But as that’s the rear quarter section it’s easier for the insurance assessor to mark it as a Cat S. Daft I know. But how it is these days. Great content. But it’s the Bimmer we wanna see you Flex on. Eh,

Whoever owned the car must of said the rear damage to the quater was part of the accident, any welded panel is a structual panel hence the cat s. Nicd easy job for you though!

Dee. With these sort of damages, I don’t think the CAT S is for the current accident. It could have been a previous CAT S in the past in my opinion. Anyway, good buy.

Structural damage I guess quarter and they haven’t gone out and personally inspected the panel just to see it’s not affecting the integrity of the car but went of pictures and played it safe in case any legal issues etc good daily , enjoy the build ❤
