I was really looking at this laptop at SAM's (for $279) and when to purchase it, it was no long in stock. ended up getting an HP 17in ENVY for $599, ($650 total), just as an everyday laptop for IT online training and learning some coding. Looking at new gamer later this year or next year when the 5000 series are released.

They recently had the Ryzen 7 version for $199 here also but it sold out in a day. Wouldn't be surprised if they do it again throughout the week. These Gateway laptops are steals, if you don't get a lemon.

I like how the blue and gray are 200, but the red and green are 350. Same specs also. Not a bad laptop for a older people not tech savy. RIP Gateway, they're just a name to be passed around. The laptop is just a rebadged China brand.

I think they made the less obnoxious colours more expensive, and the less crazy colours cheaper. Yeah this is not a Gateway, most likely from Bmorn Tech in Shenzhen who most recently sold Acer's EVOO laptops

I bought same model and color, it is good laptop but I need to replace the m.2 drive its extremely slugglish, its pretty descent of gateway to put two hard drive slots!!

I got it for $100 thought I just needed a cheap labtop for few things pretty much for browsing the web and KZbin videos few other small things nothing extreme or gaming oh and I only had a Walmart card so I didnt have much choice shop elsewhere and I didn't want a chrome book. The only other choices for that price was ryzen 3 or the built in Intel chips at like 1.1ghz

I bought my pc at swapmeet for 10$ it ended up with a 600 watt power supply 32 gigs or ram 1.0TB of storage and it boots in 1 sec LITERALY! AND IT HAS A ASROCK UNLOCKED MOTHERBOARD!

Unfortunately, right now it's a $349 laptop. But perhaps the deal will show up again. It may leave a bit of performance on the table because of the RAM. It probably has a single 8 GB memory module, so single channel memory. If it's possible to add a second stick that would give a boost to performance. (It's also possible the RAM is soldered on and can't be upgraded.)

Twin Cities, MN MicroCenter has 25 of these at $199.00, as of August 23, 2023. Firefox isn't connecting to internet with The Windows 11 O/S that this comes with for some reason, but there looks to be many fixes online.

@ Your are right. I just looked. It's been less than one day since I bought mine, and the price went up $100 for their cheapest Gateway. They look to be exactly like the one I bought, but they have double the memory, or 512 MB. However, I've only charged to 88%, but battery life seems to be pretty feeble. I would guess it's less than 4 hours in balanced performance/battery life mode. Keep in mind that I had an external DVD RW plugged in for most of that time. Also, even at max volume, I can't hear some YT videos over the fairly loud fan I have next to me. With Onn™ bluetooth headphones, I can hear well. Honestly, I think you'd get a better deal with a used laptop on Craigslist, etc.

@@ZiReviewsTech I don't know your TECH background, but maybe a quick tech shop for review. but of course for the price. if is more 1/2 the cost (of the device) to repair, then just replace. Then not worth the repair. I normally get a minimum of 2 year warranty, as that the most I will get out of a new device.
