That's my boy... Breaking and fixing things. He has always done that 🙂. Great video and great product from X-Naut. I like how easily the iPad is put in place, how secure it is, and how easy it is to remove the iPad.

Look, see... what had happened, was... Awe sh*t it broke. Nice "on the fly" engineering, Carl. Looking great!

Thanks! I'm jus glad it worked out. I know I didn't show it, but the battery backup inside works perfect too!

Glad you recovered the functionality of that nice iPad mount. 👍 I’ve had to do mods to well designed products to adapt to the mission also.

Sometimes adapting something is better than someone whos done it before. I like where I ended up.

Don't think you messed up you probably gave them there next axillary product for that system. I would suggest back to them to offer a flush mount installation kit providing the Builder with that option

I know right!? To be fair though, they don't have any products that flush mount... Granted I like their mechanism for installation and removal. The truly flush mount stuff is a pain to get in and out IMO.

Do you have space in your panel to fit 2.25” or 3.125” EFIS instrument? I think 360 Avionics guys will be happy to have one installed in your panel.

Sadly I don't! The only available space I had was just taken up by moving my throttle and mixture.

What happens when apple changes ipad dimensions? Does it adapt to other generations or do you have to rebuild a panel?
@flywiththeguys11 ай бұрын
You would have to modify the panel for a new mount. Not hard. Im on the 5th gen and my mount won’t work with the 6th. Granted the width is the same, I may be able to 3D print an adapter to make mine work still.

How? Just how? All you needed to do was remote that hidden switch with 3 wires...
@flywiththeguys Жыл бұрын
In retrospect I should have just soldered lines to the existing switch. But hey! My solution is solid and has less chance of a failure IMO.
