Weirdly enough that's not actually the best way for these Renaults, there's some kind of engine management going on that makes it difficult to decipher which coil pack is bad. What you can do instead is pull the plug of the fuel injectors, that gives you a much better idea 😊

Think I'd replace all the coil packs and start fresh. Then keep another six coil packs handy like you have there. When I purchased a low mile sedan back in 2021 I have been bringing my car up to what I call my standards. Coolant system flush, transmission system flush, brake system flush and a new set of tires all around. I like to know where a car stands when a car is new to me. Oil and oil filter changes at 3,500 to 4k miles I know some will say that's a waste but that's my insurance policy over the years and it's worked very well for me. New sparks plugs as well and my car only has 38k miles.

For interest, it's the engine compartment temperature that kills the coils. The right hand 'inlet' is actually also an 'exhaust', fans fire up when engine compartment temperature exceeds a noted temperature, usually when stationary. It's not a function of replacing 'old' ones and you're good, from new the car already had this 'characteristic', not refitting with valeo items seemed to improve the situation (increase the time gap...) The 'breakdown' is a little exaggerated, you can keep driving but do risk damaging the cat. I've completed many a journey in lumpy mode, or made it to a safer position at least. Telling a V6 owner to carry a spare coil, tools and Bluetooth obd2 reader is like telling them they'll need to fill up with fuel now and again... 😅
