I love your channel so much! You guys are so honest and hard working. It’s so refreshing compared to all the flash American teenager channels who may work on 'supercars' but actually do a rubbish job repairing salvage and don’t really know what they are doing. Well done representing the best of 🇬🇧 Makes me feel proud. We do it right!

Well done Rob & Chris with the gearbox I knew it would be sorted as it was in your hands & you don't let anything go that isn't right & now everything is sorted & looking very Smart 👍👍👍
@stephenricketts77642 жыл бұрын
I was quietly confident that your gearbox would fit and all you needed was to swap a few brackets. I think the new clutch already installed was a bonus and more important saved a good few pounds! I have to say I have never in all my years working on cars seen such a strange liquid come out of a gearbox, seen some horrible oil but not that!?? Anyway a very good result in the end, just took a bit longer than expected. Well done Rob and Chris once again. Just a quick thought Rob I keep forgetting this, You wearing contact lenses, I would suggest wearing safety glasses when under a vehicle. I mention it as my brother got something in his eye and damaged the lens luckily not his eye but the optician said it could have been worse. Have a good weekend Rob and Chris , we will see you soon.👍👍💪

Amazing content on The Citroen DS3 the car is back on its 4 wheels. The car runs and drives with no unwanted knocks or bangs. The gearbox must feel really sweet on the car and all the gears change perfectly. Well done guys you’ve earned a great profit out that car. That gearbox wasn’t expected to go wrong with this car. But that’s gamble you take when buying these sort of cars. You’ve gotta to be in it to win it. Have a lovely weekend guys.

That gearbox was really knackered!! I bet its never had an oil change in it's entire life ,that horrible fluid that drained out of it tells the tale. Excellent job guys.That spare gear box you had from a doner vehicle ,including no cluch replacement,saved yourself a substantial amount of money. Hope that car is sold soon.

Reminds me of my mate's old Orion 1.6 Injection (A reg) where the gearbox was bolted back together after a clutch change using the wrong bolts.....it disengaged itself from the engine block and destroyed both itself and the clutch.

I wonder what the inside of that gearbox looked like. Used to have a 1.6 diesel c3 picasso, which used to whine quite badly in reverse. Even changed the clutch on it, when it was under 50,000 miles. After watching this im now wondering if tge gearbox was failing. Alas no longer have it as it was written off!

The old Shiteroen turned out OK. Water in the Gearbox, Water In the number plate, it hasn't been through Rufford Ford by any chance, a bit of hydrolock wouldn't have done that engine a favour either. All sorted now though
@davekelly71652 жыл бұрын
This sounds like it's been driven through a flood and the engine has hydrauliced. That would explain the water in the gearbox. Good to see it rescued 👍

If you put some rocks with minimal gap between them (bricks for example, 3-4 layers or more, depending on how much weight the fireplace can hold) on top of the stove in your garage, they will hold heat for several hours and even when the fire has gone out, there's still heat coming from the fireplace for a couple of hours. Just an Estonian thought, because we have saunas which have similar construction and quite a lot of us still use fireplaces for everyday heating during winter in -20. But otherwise, excellent video as always! Always waiting for more.

Good video. Maybe sell it for something like £2800 and give the new buyer the details of the guy offering £500 for the reg number? Very minor point but I think there's a gap between the chin spoiler and bumper on the passenger side - missing a fastener? Would be interesting to open up the old gearbox and show what state it is in inside.

Friday night and that was more entertaining than anything on the tele. Seeing the other bodgery, whilst it was in the air, belt and braces, I'd have spent the small amount of extra time to take the clutch off and see if there was more hidden bodgery lurking. And it would be nice to see the internals of the box before you put it in the skip just because of the oil, glitter and water. Just rip it apart and show a minute segment in the next episode. Then lob it in the skip. Voice of the GPS: Leave the roundabout at the first exit Rob, or go around a few times looking for it. You live here Rob! Navigation terminated. Find your own way home...🙂

What a touch, and again yet another gem. Fair play gents, you've got yourself a blinding result there with that little runner. 🙌💪😁. After seeing the amount of stuff that wasn't clipped back in and what was coming out the gear box and then Rob and Chris giving us the SRUK run down on what was wrong with it just says one thing. That gearbox or the entire car for that matter was not looked at by someone who knew what they were doing. So again I repeat myself, you get what you pay for. If you want a job doing properly take it to someone who knows what they are doing.... Now erm, Rob how many coffees will it take when my car is due a service to get you and Chris to do the job. You've kinda set the bench mark high in terms of doing things to a high standard 🤣.

I'd put money on it being the same lad opened and "resealed" the gearbox as overlooked the wear from the release bearing. Water ingress into box then causing failure that probably only became obvious after it sat idle for a while. At least it failed in the yard and not after new owner had it for a while
@markbennett66582 жыл бұрын
Good to see you bring that car back from the brink. It’s a nice spec in white with the maroon accents and leather interior. At £2500 it’ll be a nice little motor for somebody who will hopefully show it more love than its previous owner👍
@yips_way2 жыл бұрын
Don't know if anyone has mentioned it or I got the wrong end of the stick from your explanation but the tax is void as soon as it changes owners anyway. The scam the DVLA have been running for years now is the tax not being transferable to the next owner like it used to be, so the taxman gets more cash from the motorist, especially if the car passes on mid-month as they get paid for 2 months. It's a rip off but can't do sweet FA about it unfortunately. Not so bad on low tax bracket but pretty steep on the £600 a year bracket. That's why I try to sell at end of the month so no half months wasted or to pay full price for.
