How much weight is in the trailer with the batteries and solar panel?
@Papi-power16 күн бұрын
I think they should take notes on what the trailer c as n handle you did great on putting the trailer through it paces

They asked for the fork back to look into it. I keep thinking "how long ago did this crack start?"
@Papi-power15 күн бұрын
thank goodness you found it now just imagine going on another trip and that breaking

@@Papi-power Or if I had gotten a backup axle then hours later the back wheel snapped off. The flat was 100% good luck. Was hard to see that at first.

Sounds like a warrantee issue.
@Eric_Tennant16 күн бұрын
Yea Burley has a 3 year warrantee on the frame. Think I've had it a little over an year.

Solar on the Burley, that's hella PR for them, they should cover, they have a good rep already

Wow I never seen a frame break like that besides my girl bike when I jumped it off a ramp in my high school days😂, I didn’t know you had worse problems with that trailer then it seemed, is it carbon fiber? Anyway I’m glad you’re safe and didn’t ride it that way, great observation for next trip, onward and forth ✌️

I have a tig welder and machine shop and would build you a decent trailer in a heartbeat so you could be free of import trailer parts and trash holding your travels back. Hell id even pull it with my ebike to meet you and save you riding time and distance to come get it. Plus, we would get to ebike some of our beautiful state. Just a thought, but definitely a sincere offer, tig welding, milling, lathing precision grinding, all at your disposal without you even knowing it.

Nice and glass skills too. Do you live in Phx area? Would be sweat to have a steal version of the Burley fork with a thru axle design. Or a better aluminum thru axle Burley fork.

@@Eric_Tennant I have lived in the Phoenix area, and yeah, glass is definitely a pretty large chunk of my adult life, though I spent equal time or perhaps more making tooling for other glass blowers worldwide. Fun times for sure. I've also spent a few years custome building bikes bikes trikes and trailers for touring. I've gone all nuts over bikes in my 40s and 50s. I really lost a lot of respect for burly trailers in your recent videos, last time I built a burly for a bike rental shop they seemed to be getting pretty cheap. Glad you got home, really sad your travels hit such obstacles.

Things happen that sometimes are just a freak occurrence. Hopefully the company will work with you on the arm crack. I won't give solutions to you as you seem smart enough to know them. Good luck.
@Eric_Tennant15 күн бұрын
Indeed think I had a defective fork. They are sending out a replacement.
@Eric_Tennant15 күн бұрын
If not a defect. To make it stronger welding would be the next step or have a custom fork made. Could be a market for a steel version of the fork.
@adam-g7crq16 күн бұрын
Definitely a weak spot on that frame, could probably benefit from different type of steel pipe that's man enough for the job.

Oh boy aluminum stress flex crack obviously not built for off road only smooth paved roads time for a better built trailer. just saying
