There is something that you didnt consider when replacing that bolt with a stainless one, that is the original bolt maybe a lower grade which if the auger gets stuck it shears to prevent burning out the motor.
@howler7818 ай бұрын
@ntorres1966, you are 100% CORRECT!!!! Same principle as using manufacturer"s shear pins on a snowblower. If the auger gets jammed, the bolt will snap before causing damage to the gear box, (or in this case), the electric motor.

@@ntorres1966 I'm full of mistakes lol...sorry for the late reply I was out of state. What I did in this video was a redneck temporary fix so I could feed the family that night, but I did order a shear pin to replace the SS one I bought to replace the temp fix.

2 pellet tubes mixed with some wood chips are working perfect for me. High amount of smoke for 4 hours in the box and smoke ring like offset into the meat. Set your pellet on 225 and let time make the magic happen

I thought the same thing , but keep forgetting to try it , thanks for the reminder.

I have the elite. Great smoker when it works. The fan quit working called pit boss they said they would send me a new fan under warranty for free . I thought great. Called back 2 weeks later said they were waiting on a delivery from China. 2 months latter no fan still waiting on their delivery. I heard about a slow boat from China but this is getting ridiculous.

I'm in the same spot, kinda. Still waiting on a control board and fan on my BRAND NEW Titan. :( Over a month, I call them every week or two.

Lonestar grills is supposed to work with woodchips BUT they also sell a specific woodchip that is smaller than the average you find at the store. If you ever try it again maybe get the woodchips they sell

I bet that if you check with Pitt Boss they will tell you to use a shear pin, not a bolt. Most likely they sell them.

Yikes! You're lucky the little bolt snapped so the motor didn't burn up. Nice save, Andrew👍😊
