Funny thing is today I had some shit wood left , 2 audio pipe 12s (TXX-BDD2-12) and felt like tinkering. I threw together two front facing vented enclosures and the sound of the bass was amazing. I have nooooo idea what the enclosures i built today are tuned at, I just know it sounds better than these two monsters I have in my car. The box is so ugly I don't think I'd let somebody even see it.. lmaooo, but it sounds f__king good. I had to call my dad and tell him about this one, as he is the one who got me in to audio when I was a kid. I am 45 btw.. I literally eyeballed everything, and this thing had so much caulk and gorilla glue in it, probably gonna take 10 yrs to dry... LOL.. butttt it sounds better than these hippo 12s I have. LOL.

i had a B2 Audio Swan 14000 watt amp hooked to them running at 1 ohm on each channel wired in series-parallel running in a properly ported 6th order wall build. Even though they are rated at 3000 watts RMS, the box rise basically will destroy these subs on efficiency. They arent very efficient as most 4" voicecoil subs arent very efficient to say the least, it takes a massive amount of power to makes these subs show cone movementand they just cant take the power. Impedance with frequency is a function of the driver's TSP parameters and the enclosure. In case of a ported box the impedance rises when the port starts to stop loading the enclosure below or above the tuning of the box. As someone who understands some speaker driver engineering i really don't understand why the Spiders have to be that extremely stiff. When it's new out the box ok.. After hours of playing though? not so much. Even rock hard PA driver's are broken in after a few hours. Stiff suspension is good for some designs though not when they are so stiff that they eat energy and tear themselves off their mounting plate.

Wait.... I thought these smart amps are supposed to fight box rise, ohm rise? This is this first time I've seen it not putting out its wattage at all ohms... Wasn't even close to 8k not even 4? Can someone explain?
@NickMillerlouisiana Жыл бұрын
a normal amp lets say a bass 8k will make 8k at 1 ohm if its the one ohm version, it will make roughly half that power at 2 ohms and half the power it makes at 2 ohm at 4 ohms. a smart amplifier will make on the smart 8k its rated power at 1 ohm and will also make 8k at 2 ohms to help combat impedance rise. he was rising to about 5 or so ohms so the output absorbed by the speaker is a good bit less. you can calculate with watts law and ohms law at 5 ohm with the know output voltage of the amplifier and you see the wattage you are seeing on his video. the higher your rise the less power so to speak. the smart will only hold its power within an ohm or 2 change in rise from your sub.
@bdc211 Жыл бұрын
the amp's smart tech is in the range of .5 ohm - 2 ohm... when the subwoofer is rising 4+ohms, its a good indicator that the sub enclosure is not within the subs ts parameters... for example, a non smart amp thats rated for 3k at 1 ohm, will be rated about 1500 at 2ohm.. so from .5 ohm-2ohm, there is about a 1500 watt fluctuation.. the smart amp, (for example) is rated 3k at .5ohm-2ohm... so if you wire sub at .5ohm, you will get all 3k watts, up to 2ohms in rise.. hope that made sense
@NickMillerlouisiana Жыл бұрын
@@bdc211 yes the sub is reactive ac component it will change its impedance due to many factors but box size is one of them also there is no .5 ohm smart 8k or smart 3k .5 is doubling the load on any 1 ohm minimum amp thus effectively wanting twice the power the amp can provide overloading the amp. if your talking about hooking up .5 dc ohm static load on a one ohm amp that is ok as long as it rises to 1 ohm or better during play back of any frequency that's how people get away with doing that. the .5 sub load will change as soon as signal hits that sub upwards, you run a smart amp on a true .5 ohm (like a resistive fixed load or even too many subs rising below 1 ohm) load its going to destroy the amp in a short amount of time. if you say the power is the same on the amp from .5 to 2 ohms or even 1 ohm please explain id love to hear about it. its the same from 1-2ohms

Parker getting almost 5x impedance rise, is the reason why you would get this Bass Series of Smart amplifiers, and wire them to 1/2 ohm, like their rated, to help combat high impedance rise. Parker being wired @ 1 ohm, and rise to 5 ohm approx.,= approx. 2,800 watts. If parker was able to wire to 1/2 ohm, with 5x impedance rise,= 2.5 ohm power, would= approx. 7,200 watts= a huge difference! This is why i suggest the Bass Smart series= (factory rated 1/2 ohm stable)= 1/2 ohm wired, with 4x impedance rise= 2 ohm power= 8,100 watts for this series, @ 2 ohms, vs the Regular= full range Smart series= (only 1 ohm stable, factory rated)= 1 ohm wired, with 4x impedance rise= 4 ohm power= 5,100 watts for this series, @ 4 ohm. 4x impedance rise is about normal.

Massive is either a hit or miss imo. With that being said for the $ the sub that rival this one is the resilient sound onyx. 4" coil, 2500 watts rms 5k peak. 62 lbs for the 12" and around 80 lbs for the 15".
