jewish is way better than laith is making it out to be because every single one of the aspects have a secondary effect that is very strong, the dev cost aspect gives 35 relations with every muslim and christian country, the unrest one gives you stability every time you celebrate the festival (can be swapped for either reform progress or a ton of money), the reduced infantry cost one gives manpower recovery speed while at war, doubled in a defensive war

12:20 - there is an achievement to become Jewish and do "Celebrate Festival" as Mutapa. In my experience, the Ethiopia AI doesn't manage to convert those provinces for like 20-30 years. Also, there's a rare event that can make the Selanik province Jewish.

Actually you can convert to Jewish as other nations. The AI will always take the option to keep the provinces as Jewish and -100% missionary strength for 20 or so years. You are basically on a timer to get those provinces. Its doable as Mutapa for the Hanukkah Mutapa achievement.

If it makes you feel any better the slave producing provinces are suppose to be slave markets where slaves are brought from elsewhere (like the interior of Africa from raids or bought) to be sold, no slave breeding involved. Though that sort of thing did unfortunately happen in some places.

It's not easy to do, but there is an achievement where you have to start as Mutapa, become Jewish, and hold a festival. Ethiopia's ai always chooses the tolerance option (100% ai weight choice), which prevents conversion for 25 years after being selected. This basically means you have to conquer to Ethiopia as Mutapa within 25 years. And that's actually the easy part. The hard part is actually converting to Jewish and holding on without collapsing, as if you convert to Jewish before your gold mines are converted, your economy will implode. Though if the gold mines are converted before you convert, your economy will hurt, cuz there's like a -80% production malus for wrong religion

The easiest way to form Israel is to start as Mamluks. They added a hardlock to prevent mamluks from forming israel but if you change culture to Yemeni or Tunisian and form that first, you can then go israel right after.

I'm a Turkish guy who can read Koran so able to pronounce the Arabic letters. What I have encountered is pronouncing (ع), (ح), and (ض) is particularly hard for the Turkish speakers as well. So any other European native speaker would likely butcher the pronouncing. So I clearly understand what Laith was talking about the pronounciation of Arabic names.
