Hey! Since the release of this video, I've made the residents disappear after five minutes, improved the anvil trick to be more random and more fun, and I give the player mining fatigue while they are in a trick. The update is out on the main page now. The world download is in the description and there's some helpful links if you want to modify this datapack! I've looked at the posts on Planet Minecraft, and there's this really cool map made by @3141minecraft! He created an automatic afk farm for treats, with a bunch of different settings that you can toggle for testing! You can use /schedule to run a function after a certain amount of time instead of counting the ticks in a scoreboard. As an admin you could still change the time with macros, but a scoreboard is probably better for performance. Also when using scoreboard add a # infront of the fake names just in case someone has that name. That also removes it from the sidebar so if you don't want that use a dot. The /spreadplayer command could replace the bats and would maybe fix the anvil probelm.

Ahh the schedule command, didn't think of that one! That'll be useful for the future, thanks! The hashtag thing I learned halfway through when I found that post about saving the inventory, really useful stuff! Spreadplayers does work on armor stands, my only issue is if it can work underground or not. From my understanding it only works on one vertical plane, usually at the surface. My issue here is if the player is in a cave, they could have residents spawning on the surface which is really annoying to get to if they are so far away. I didn't think about using it for the anvils, only thing is I kind of want the anvils to have smooth movement and spreadplayers might make it choppy. Either way, some really great suggestions here, thank you!

Great video! It's nice to see you encouraging people learn how to make datapacks too! Not sure if I'm gonna do that, so here are a few ideas for anyone who wanna do that: - Swap elytras with broken elytras. You'll still be able to get them, but that's adds a bit of balance. - Spawn multiple bats for anvil trick. You can also make them fly in different parts of game, for example, 1 in 4x4 corner (for each corner) and 1 at the center 5x5. Also making anvils drop (using pressure plates or sm) might be helpful. Also, some facts FYI: - You can get advancement "Free the End" on server by respawning the dragon. But, "remote gateway" probably is still better because summoning dragon for each player might be frustrating and also make it so people can't really build anything on the island cuz dragon would destroy it. - (there was something else I was going to say but I forgot 💀)

I found a way to make an afk farm that allows you to get treats while afk on this datapack By the way, I found out you can break blocks when you are in trick. I don't think that is intentional Edit: I finished testing the farm and I got 61 treats in 2 hours, so it is 30.5 treats per hour

Yea, I figure it can be easy since the Resident only spawns where a bat can travel to from your location, but nothing wrong with that! Block breaking is a small issue I overlooked, all in all if you want to break out and jump into the void be my guest, you'll just fail the trick automatically. Since the player doesn't have their tools it is also extra difficult, so I don't mind. Sounds like a really good farm! Thanks for playing and watching!

@@bigcongaming or you can give the player level 255 mining faituge which slows down block breaking speed to the point that you don't have close to enough time to break a single block By the way, the map has Bigcontrickortreat tag you can search for it

Hmm, I'm not sure if that would speed up the pauses it takes or just it's movement speed. Like it moves around fast enough, it's just that the pauses it takes are too long.

I think that if the space stays so small the solution would be to have invisible armorstands or markers for every block and choose one of them at random

@CreatorProductionsOriginal Oh, I have some videos out right now where I made custom new tools in which I made custom enchantments for each! My apologies if you’ve already watched them, or if you were referring to strictly adding enchantments to existing equipment. I did make one universal enchantment in the Hammer video called magnetism that works on all tools! I recommend checking them out (not in any particular order, they’re mostly videos on their separate tools)

@@RYKAZARD Aww thanks I love to hear it! Enchanting could really be a cool aspect of the game, upgrading gear in new ways than what they originally were. The biggest problem with it right now is that it uses the unfun kind of randomness (purely random with too many options in the pool,) with the only reasonable alternative is villagers (which are a pain, take a very long time, and is repetitive in nature.) Remaking a whole new system that aimed to fix these issues could be really fun, but also challenging because I would have to strike the right balance of fun, randomness, and power. But right now, I think I have too many projects going on at once to start a new one, but I'll keep the idea in my mind! Maybe the mod I'm making could look to fix it, I do not know right now.

@ecsko_ gotcha, at least with the invisible bat strategy, all spawn-able locations are guaranteed to be accessible by the player, don’t know if the same is true with spreadplayers.

Of course, It is on the way! I just have to space out my projects so I don't get burned out and to give time for people to suggest what they want to see! Next I want to work on my mod because it's been longer, but after that then for sure will be back at the parkour. I wish I could upload more often, like twice a week so I could work on more projects within the week, but I just don't have the time (and 30-40 min videos are a lot). Is the glowing effect permanent? Would be cool if it was temporarily (but long) if you wanted to use the residents as decoration but not have them glowing through everything

So one thing I think I forgot to put in the video but I changed before uploading to planet Minecraft is that every resident is only around for 5 minutes, so unfortunately they no longer stick around long enough to be used as decoration. But someone could always copy their NBT if they wanted to!

I do agree that the end game pool could benefit from having more treats that have decorative value than functional value, but at the same time I feel like the dragon head is underused as it is. It would fit in thematically but I feel like it could be annoying to the player to receive one. But of course, totally respect your opinion and can totally see how having the elytra in the pool could take away from the end city experience.

No of course command block creations are something I want to continue! This project just worked best as a data pack because of how I wanted to make it easy to throw it into a different world. Same situation with the Parkour project. The mod project is its own case, but in the future I think command blocks could be really useful for map design: basically projects that are meant to occur within one world, so its better to use command blocks because it reduces the setup required. An example of this is the Mini-Golf project, everything is command blocks because it's meant to be played on the course I'm building, so it's easier to use command blocks to keep everything within that one world. I have a ton of ideas of other really cool games I could make that would involve command blocks, but finding the time is the issue. I have 3 (more like 2) active projects and starting another seems insane right now, especially since none of them seem close to complete. But towards the future I will hopefully reintroduce more command block based projects! Don't worry!

Hmm, are you talking about the fail state within the Tricks? If so, I figured it would be the easiest way to detect a fail state without having to engineer my own. I simply detect if the player still has the "Tricked" tag (meaning the player was in a trick) and if they are in the overworld (player has died and respawned). If both are true, they failed the trick, and I send them back to their starting location with all their stuff! The only "punishment" for failing a trick is their XP, which I think is fitting as a punishment! So all in all, I think this method is easiest for me at least.

@@bigcongaming The Saving world thing only shows up if the saving is VERY slow. Im running everything of a nvme SSD and that doesn't even show up, but it did when I was using a very bad SSD

That makes a lot of sense, my drives are pretty much the bottleneck of my computer now, started with a prebuilt that I've modified over time with newer parts, but the last thing I haven't changed is the drives. Thankfully on Minecraft it doesn't personally bother me, but whenever I do download anything else I usually have a long wait time because of the drive, not even my network connection. I gotta get something new.
