if this doesnt make people want a xfr i dont know what will
@barryfarrell1239 ай бұрын
Amazing car yes. Ive had 3 Jags 2were XFR both 4.2 and 5.0 variants. Both heavily modified. First you did most of the right things to the car however you will not see 650 to the wheels but to the crank possibly. 2nd. Your cooling is way too inadequate. You need a higher flow SC water pump along with the ice box…also methanol injection and a full 3” exhaust. 3rd i noticed you heated the old pulley while trying to remove it….very bad. You probably compromised your SC bearing by heating it as such. Not sure why the car has 255 on the rear stock is 285 but you can run 315 with rims. Last. If you want 700HP you need a ported TB and a SC porting ideally with SC venom cooling kit. If you want to go full out and run 700-750 HP (crank)add on a chiller killer thats what i did to mu XKR175. It ran a best of 11.0 @ 131 … stock ps4s rubber. Good luck you are on the right path ! Fix your cooling if nothing else!! Ps) Remember to change the engine oil every 5,000 Km or face the dreaded timing chain tensioner. I put 170,000 on my 5.0 XFR Zero issues with all the above mods and more. Dyno 684HP no 1/4 yet.

@@xaviergallegos8635 ….smaller upper pulley, high flow intercooler water pump. Ported, polished supercharger. 2.5” full exhaust with 400 cel cats. Meth injection Larger intercooler, a good tune. Will give you 500HP+ easy

I have the honor of making the first comment on this video. Outstanding work! The way you record and explain everything is awesome. You made this look so easy but I know it was alot of work. Best video I have ever seen covering the pulleys and tuning. I am excited to see what else you do with this monster in future videos.

Such a shame they didn't make a XF V8 estate other then the full on XFRS.. as theirs only 37 XFRS sportbrakes world wide & their pretty much an SVR making them quite expensive.. I do love the XFR though

No kidding. It is too bad they don’t make more wagons. I would 10x rather have a sportbrake.

I got the front ones I needed on rock auto, But if you want the reaaally good stuff, look up powerflex USA. Their stuff is FANTASTIC, and big upgrades over stock.

Good tune. But I'd consider getting the larger intercooler, to help the sc run more effectively.
@Code3media1994 ай бұрын
Thought about going that route, but ended up doing some other cooling upgrades since the heat exchanger upgrade is quite pricey! Ended up going with an ice box, and a second IC pump instead

I have a 2011 XF 5.0 Supercharged (with a XFR front end and hood) and I have a lower pulley that I haven't had installed yet because I was told I need to get a tune right after I change my pulley. Any information on tuning my Jag?
@Code3media1997 ай бұрын
Yes sir, you will need a tune right away, else it’s gonna run terrible. Before getting it tuned I would recommend some cooling mods as well. These cars suffer very badly from heat soak stock! If you live somewhere where you can do a decat, that helps a ton, along with adding a resivoir and separating the intercooler from the radiator system. If you stay tuned, I have added an icebox setup, and there will be an upload soon dedicated to that! The more of these things that you can have done before you get the tune done, the happier you will be with the results. I had mine tuned by VAP, as they are known to be one of the best, but there are a few other tuners for this platform that are awesome as well.
@ddt19837 ай бұрын
Ok is it necessary to do the cooling mods etc first or can I go ahead and change the pulley and tune it before that? @@Code3media199

Awesome video! Not an easy car to work on. Do you find you get all the oil out when pumping it? I’ve heard guys say there’s usually 1L left. Just got a pump myself and am curious if it works just as well as going from the drain plug.
@Code3media1998 ай бұрын
Thanks man! Honestly, when I swapped the gearbox it was much worse. On this car specifically, there isn’t actually a drain plug, only an oil level sensor, that hole is made for oil changes, and is the only option.😅 the pump works really well though.
@T_ohh868 ай бұрын
@@Code3media199 yeah my XJ has the same issue. No dipstick. Just the oil level sensor. I just got the car in September and my garage did the oil change and actually removed the plug and all the under carriage plastic to do it. Told them they could just suck it out annnd they also overfilled it so dad and I are going to be doing oil changes ourselves this fall (he has an F-Type)

Now since you did both pullies did you upgrade the charge intercooler as well?
@Code3media1997 ай бұрын
I have not, the charge coolers aren’t upgradeable, and the heat exchanger upgrades are very expensive. I opted to add an ice box, a second IC pump, separate the radiator and ic systems, and that did a lot. I’m sure at some point I will end up adding a bigger heat exchanger, but for now the next step is a killer chiller setup I’m thinkin!
