I built a glider with ArduPilot

A video of my new RC Glider built out of balsa wood. The aircraft is my own design and is made for thermaling. It has a flight controller with ArduPilot onboard for Return To Home capability.

Well done. Personaly i use stabilized for takeoff and landing.

Stabilize (or FBWA mode as it is called) is probably better in most situations. But this glider is very slow and easy to fly. I enjoy flying it in manual mode.

@@adbas6201 I looked it up. I Didn't even know about STABILIZE för ArduPlane! But as an experienced pilot, I don't think I would like it. I prefer full manual control, otherwise, I want the full self-leveling behavior of FBWA. It can be nice in very windy conditions as you say.

Absolutely gorgeous! BTW, Ardupilot does offer thermal hunting.

The auto thermalling in ArduPilot works great. Definitely give it a try!

I am using EdgeTX with ELRS, and the Yaapu telemetry script that receives and displays information from the ArduPilot system.
