Ticks are no joke, be safe out there. Here in the States we have Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever that the ticks can give you. Pretty nasty stuff and in extreme cases can cause death. I don't know if I could deal with leeches on me, I have been around them but never had one attach. Good to see the progress on the trail, this is most definitely a labor of love.
@cutlaps10 ай бұрын
I'm fine with the leeches. They are a bit gross and slimy and leave an itchy for a few days but they are o easy to get off. Ticks on the other hand can be harder to get rid of. I've been. Getting them my whole life so sort of used to them but definitely don't want to develop any diseases. So now that they are really bad in the section I'm working in I'm using tick repellent.

So sick!!! Every feature of your trail has me frothing to ride. Also, desperate to get down and check out Narooma. The place looks incredible.

Awesome! Mate Narooma is a lot of fun. Definitely worth it.

Brilliant idea making the new feature jump the exit trail of the sketchy skinny. Well done! For the next feature it’s hard to say without seeing what’s next but I assume it drops down across the creek or just next to the creek. Idea-1: I would go from the right-turn-berm to a shark-finned-drop that lands with a left-turn-berm right before the creek (with lots of rocks at the base for floods.) Idea 2: a step-down, creek crossing, then using the creek bank on other side a curved wall-ride turn (lower skill turn on just the creek wall to another creek crossing. (I’m all about back and forth in half pipe shapes)
@cutlaps10 ай бұрын
Yeah I'm going for the half pipe style with multiple creek crossings. I was clearing the area today and I think the best option is going to be a creek gap! The other side of the creek has a higher bank and I think it would work well as a landing. Fingers crossed.
@mattspen10 ай бұрын
@@cutlaps a creek gap would be epic! I hope there’s enough speed after a 180° berm. You could make another chicken bridge that is truly a bridge over the creek.
@cutlaps10 ай бұрын
I think speed should be fine... I think. Need to get building and I will find out. Maybe I can build a roller out of the berm for extra speed if needed. @@mattspen
@mattspen10 ай бұрын
@@cutlaps yeah I watched it again and realized speed would likely be gained from dipping down into the creek, THEN gapping. (For example if the Leech pit had gap roughly the size of the bridge). Which gives me an idea, what if the feature was a draw bridge! So it could be let down for beginners and raised on each side for gapping. I’m imagining a complex way to make the lip side decently curved when up. Imagine each plank that makes the lip side resting on cables (fastened underneath with pipe-hanger-straps) so that when the cable is pulled up there is a curve to it. (likely a bounce too it so small jump.) 😂 just a crazy idea to bounce off of. Could even have a release sign the second rider could high five to release the draw bridge to flat after the first rider jumps it. 🙄

@@mattspen hahah dude you just described an idea that dad and I were talking about for a creek gap at the bottom of the trail. Want to work out a way to use a pulley system for a draw bridge jump. I thinking this one will just be a mandatory gap and I'll have an alternate b line for beginner riders.

another way to find the speed without a real speedometor is the gopro speedometor in the gopro app if you are recording with location on, idk how acurate it is but its worth looking into
@cutlaps9 ай бұрын
I have the GPS settings on my gopro turned off now which is what is used to track speed. The bottom section of my trail doesn't get good coverage so the GoPro speedometer stops working which is a bummer. So now I just save battery.
