My buddy with the truck that looked like yours would be driving down the road and all of a sudden jam right into the ditch and floor it wide open thru like 12” deep mud for about 50 feet and then take another right into the forest for a 100 yards And jump off a 5ft embankment into the Green river and down the river into a public park and back onto the road ! Lol it was a blast for a lunch break lol! Love Your Truck!

Steel wool and vinegar in a cup for a few hours. Brush the rust that forms at the bottom of the cup onto your truck. Once it dries you have real rust!

You said you were new to weathering and to be honest - you nailed it 👌. The hardest part is knowing when to stop and it's so easy to get carried away when you're "in the zone" and I've seen a lot of railway models over done in the past. Yours looks spot on!

Exhalent job on the paint work! I'm working on my first hard body too. And I have two more right behind it to complete. I have the trifecta, TF2 standard wheel base, TF2 LWB with 4 door can and a TF2 LWB for the extra can like yours. I plan on doing different things to each of them. I was going to mention on your over heating ESC. Gear it down. Volt up ( I'm sure you're already at 3s) and gear down. Try a 11 tooth ( I'm guessing that you are/were using a 14 or something). Doing this should really lower your temps!! Love the vids! Keep up the good work!!!

Firstly, you've done an amazing job. Your build looks fantastic! I just completed my '87 Xtracab today. I went with the Mamba X / 2280Kv slate combo. Reefs 555 & a 5ch Spektrum so I could utilize my DX5C. I had to purchase 60" of Castle red 13AWG and re run leads from the motor to the factory TF2 ESC mounting location (which had to be modified to fit the mamba). I also had to create 90 bullets and remove the mamba X fan to allow for the truck bed to sit down on its mount. Even then I only have about 1/32" clearance. I had to extend the Reefs servo cable to reach the esc too, and now I'm looking into where I can find a sensor cable extension or perhaps make one that fits. It has been a challenge, but today it turned into a success. Thanks for the great RC content!

Rig looks and performs great! You might want to try using some ground cinnamon as a rust technique. Spray a mix of white glue and water on the body and sprinkle a little of the cinnamon on. Kind of push it in with your finger. You can do this over the top of the rust colored paint effect and it adds a nice 3d look to the rust. Smells good too 😜
