I have just explored your channel and your videos are so nice. I think you added Methylene blue to aquarium. Actually it is killing bacteria, which is also needed for a healthy aquarium. So it may not be a good thing to add it to prepare the water.
@Practically_Nature Жыл бұрын
Thanks! Yeah, I have since stopped adding methylene blue to my aquariums.

Love your vids. Just a small tip, remove the lead from your plants roots before planting them. If you keep it on at someone point your water will get lead particles and your fish will get lead poison
@Practically_NatureАй бұрын
Thanks for the heads up! I don’t think those plants had any lead in them though
@boes0014Ай бұрын
@Practically_Nature nowadays most shops don't use it anymore but from what I saw in your video the plants you used still have the cushion at the bottom which is being kept together with a piece of lead (uselly, not sure if I saw that correctly though but it looked like it they did use lead)
@Practically_NatureАй бұрын
Ah yes! The plants did have fabric mesh holding the stems together but it didn't have any metal in it.
@42MegletАй бұрын
@@Practically_Nature They hide the lead in those wraps sometimes, I always check my plants just in case!! Also, goldfish poop A LOT! Get yourself a filter, your clean up crew won't be able to keep up. Goldfish also will keep growing, they will need more space sooner than later. I love keeping planted tanks!
@fernedowns66528 ай бұрын
Ya you might want to do a video on a bigger tank for the goldfish because it will out grow the tank in no time!😊

They’re pulling tons of goldfish out of the Great Lakes in the US every year and they’re collapsing the marine ecosystem. They make awesome cheap substitutes for Koi in man-made decorative ponds (we have rescue ‘feeder’ goldfish) and they live their best life there, but when people release them into the wild here for tree hugger reasons or not wanting them anymore - oh man those good intentions are killing everything else off in the aftermath!

You shouldn't need to drain the water about the mosqito larves... They are perfect live food for any kind of fish, they would finish them immediately...
@Practically_Nature Жыл бұрын
Yeah but the time between the mosquitoes getting in there and the fish going in was too long. I preferred to get rid of them myself then let them keep growing in there for another week
