Fortunately it's relatively straightforward. The hardest part is cutting out the body to fit around the spur cover but I'm terrible at that sort of thing and I was able to do a halfway decent job :-)

Yeah I'm sure they'll do the body mounting differently and probably have a cool cage around the cockpit area but I would be willing to bet if you took mine and said it next to whatever they come up with they'll probably be pretty similar

@vicchin1314 Cool though it will be quite a bit shorter than the XL and unless you can find more narrow arms It probably won't quite be the right proportions for a buggy. This is already a little wider than what you would expect.

@DoRC I have tried masking a body off and having different colors with sharp lines once and it ended horrible. From then on all I mask are windows because I just suck at it.

Those would be awesome. Honestly the tires I put on there aren't the best as they don't get great traction. Instead of old school pins would probably be better. It's actually a fairly easy build. The only thing you really need any special equipment for are the 3D printed parts and you could technically have those printed by a service for not that much money.

As someone that does a lot of custom work it's great to see you doing the same. However I have to ask, you've got a 3d printer, a laser cutter and who knows what else, how do you not incorporate brass heat press inserts? I use them in my 3d printed parts and they're awesome. I made a drill press that uses a soldering iron to press them in

I do use them when appropriate but to be honest with you especially in this case it was easier to screw into the chassis and then use nuts and bolts then to model in the holes for the inserts insert them etc etc.

Another premium custom build. I remember when the Raider first released, and I was put off from buying one because the screw count and the speed controller being buried in the roll cage. I should at least given it more than passing glance, looking back in hindsight.

For me the power was just about right. I'm not the best at driving two-wheel drive and it was already pretty squirrely.

@@boostfrog Yeah and I didn't mention it in the video but if you look on the Fury chassis there's actually a third set of holes that would probably line up just about perfectly for some smaller Nerf bars.

Probably really well. These tires aren't the best. You'd have to convert the hexes but I think it would probably be worth it.

To be honest I'm not sure this motor is the best option for pushing. In its current form it already has plenty of power for two wheel drive bashing and is pretty much uncontrollable at full throttle in most cases. If you want more though you probably want to look at a bigger combo.

The vortex shock Tower is a lot shorter and I was going to swap it out but I didn't have shocks that were the right length.

I unfortunately don't really have any recommendation. The ones I use are just some random generic ones I got on Amazon. I've had them for probably 10 years now.
