Thanks for covering my reddit post :). Appreciate positive reception of the build. This build is indeed the pinnacle of Devastator power. Speedrunners used and use that for clearing as fast as possible. It takes some time to get used to, especially procing extra Resistance Pierce from melee where you can (like running past bleeding trash enemies) and learning how to Despair. If you see group of enemies with elite in them, always leap into them, since its AOE debuff. You also have to be aggressive and cast as much as possible and leaping when needed (it's still AOE and gets you close to proc Untamted Power). You can also swap Untamed Power for Blood Boost, it will also work very well, especially if you like to cast EQ from afar often - it will net more DPS vs Untamed Power for which you need to be very very close. The rotation is strict, especially for bosses, however the reload swap burst mechanic is easy to learn. Just make sure you empty your secondary at the start of the map for quick burst. And you need to be close for both MW and RS to hit sicne RS is 6m while MW is 8m. If my reddit post seemed to you passive-aggressive - that's fine. It was. I was sick of looking at garbage builds that some people post and slapping "best" on it in title. I wanted to spread usefull information, not love. But I see you spread love instead so it balances out ;). I am all for build diversity but new players can easy be deceived by something like that (BEST BUILD EVER!!) and waste their time grinding for the build only to be left in dust later. It's shame wasting their time. Have fun with the build :) You can also try more boss-bursty version. Get pistols with Vulnerability rounds II and Fortress, on boss start with pistols applying Fortress buff and vulnerabity, Reflect cancel, LEAP ->melee->3x EQ, reload swap burst. Pistols give 100% casting time increase so it's very fast to do full combo with them.

@@petersonpierre107 Becasue you can cast and immidietly cancel Reflect bullet, giving you Paladin node 45% Anomaly Power boost (when you cancel Reflect immidietly it has like 2 seconds cooldown). So you can do it every 10 sec without down time. Most people use Golem cause they don't know you can do this trick with Reflect. Golem has quite a long cooldown so you can't keep buff all the time.

I love that Full Measure covered this reddit post and that you also ended up here. I read it early on and love the hate it received from the fragile egos. I'm hesitant to try it yet, as I have only one Seismic helmet and I don't want to lose Ultimate Impaler without being able to replace it later. @BennySolo I'm curious why you (and every other Dev I see) chooses the Red Rivers (30% bleed duration) over in this specific case Strong Arm of the Law (2x melee damage). I don't crunch numbers like meta gamers, it seems logical that an instant skill used regularly would provide more burst than a DoT bleed that often doesn't run to its last tick.

I play a heatwave, ash blast, and overheat pyro. I played with a Devastator a couple days ago that did a lot more damage than me in maps. It blew my mind because this was a first since I have hundreds of hours in and I've had a complete build with all the gear and mods for months now. I haven't looked at a piece of gear in months, I just dismantle, because I already have top tier rolls, so to have a Devastator do such monster damage really impressed me. I have grouped with plenty of Technos and a good number of Tricksters (who can get the highest damage in my experience compared to other classes but I don't see it often) that do much more damage the my Pyro, but to see a Dev do this damage, and consistently through multiple maps, was totally new for me

Yeah that meta build has been around for a while. I remember when i first tried despair with double leap, i was surprised that it worked with moaning winds( not sure if it works with MW anymore). Was the 1st time i hit like 6m+ in a single hit with devastator( had a pyro on my team). This was back in like april/may lol. They really need to give the Dev some "Boulder Rounds". If the dev gets some anamoly rounds, he would have the best close range firepower build. A close rank tank that can mow anything down, that doesnt have to* rely on anamoly powers. Thats what I want.

Reason i like playing devastator is the absolute tank aspect, i can just barrel into the thick of things and pound the hell out of them without dying in a second. My skill tree is a little different than the main bleed variety and i use leap ALOT. Its just a damn fun in your face, dont give 2 fks build.

ok, so I decided to check this build out not expecting too much out of it. I am so sorry I doubted you. I tweaked it a bit gaining a shit ton more firepower and about 4k more anomaly power than you did. Ultimately it did not offer a big improvement over what I was using which I think is a big call out for some kind of buff needed for devastator is needed. Ran 4 ct 15 and averaged about 154,000000 per game and that was in a group with a Technomancer. This is not going to break any record time runs but you will hold your own.

I don't usually look up builds on the net because I like building my own things, but it was funny to see this one because it's almost identical to my Devastator. We use the same mods on the primary weapon as well. Only two mods and a couple of skill points were different, one of which is that Pyromancer mod because I don't have a max leveled Pyromancer. By the way, "melee" is not pronounced "me-lee," but rather "may-lay."

Use exactly the same build, just use Damascus(LMG) with Claymore and Comet. I play this build without cycling Moaning Winds. You don't need it at all.

We aren't talking about whether you can kill something or not, more damage means faster kills which means more efficient farm time etc. Lastly, Captain Hunter will significantly increase your damage profile in coop where there are larger health pools. Either way, play how you feel, these builds aren't the only way to play but rather suggestions on how to, if you find your way is better and you have more success with it, then power to you. Have fun playing, thats the most important.

Hey I always enjoy the content and it's great your bringing this build and others to your community but this is one issue I have with the game in the lack of options classes have...I've been running this same build on dev since I grinded for seismic set early on,the only difference now bc of moaning winds nerf I use pyre instead of death shield. This is the only viable option for a dev bc firepower build is still broke and the other options just don't cut it...it's not just dev but look at trickster the only difference In my build is I know use trespasser set but otherwise same mods same skills and its still better than an AP option. Also they added some new weapons yet we still use the same weapons (death shield,animoei,pyre) lack of options. I get yes there's no time gate now but I can tell when I'm using some random build compared to a meta build especially solo. Sorry for long post but it's frustrating for a game that has potential but the devs don't get it, yea they made some improvements but no real content til sometime next year and it's basically still the same old options. Again sorry for rant and always love the content

why not use the damascus offering as it comes with claymore torrent and u can slot shadow comment to basically replicate the same mod loadout. the only reason i suggest that is the damascus offering is an lmg and you would be able to spam it more often since it comes with 100 rounds?

Hey full measure I just want ask if you have tried the thunderbird as you're secondary to the anemoi being you're first and the mods are great on the the anemoi I have the same setup up but I run the thunderbird as my secondary with ultimate storm whip and strings of gauss it's just as op as the weapon setup you got oh and if you took the time to read this is impale ok instead of gravity leap and is using collum ok to reflect bullet's

cant stand EQ hits tiny damage, ive been almost a day 1 deva since my techno got the char wipe bug from way back, honetly impale is just superior, was nervous to switch but damn its so much stronger grav leap impale golem atm is a fun playstyle the 45% anom boost from protection is nice never gonna reactivate deactivate reflect bullets seems very not fun , but i do change it sometimes because we all love the bird creatures as deva right those are super fun. P.S saw the last comment about the background music, guess i imagine sabaton playing in the back ground on the devastator haha

There is a mod u can only get on a pyro called no Resistance for the Fortified I think...then stack Armor Pierce on your weapon. It will take your Anomaly Power to base 197k if your maxed out. Then melee activate cancel reflect bullets..melee large group of mobs and watch bleed ticks get in the 40-50k range

Depends, there's a finite amount of damage you can do per expo since there's a fixed amount of mobs. That being said this build can carry lesser geared players in CT15 so potentially you could do all to most of the damage.

Saw a guys build on Reddit the other day and he straight up got accused of cheating.. use all armour stacking mods and primal chain gun for Boulder dash.. wasn’t sure it would work and checked myself, can confirm it’s silly.. 25M+ armour and 1-3M firepower something like that..

Yup, there's a bug right now that let's you use the final node, Boulderdash and Fortress to infinitely stack AP/FP..... only issue is that it's for short bursts and it's a bug.

@@davoap1268 if you want more Survivability swap "Strong arm of the Anomoly" for "Blood Donation" (it the final big skill node at the very bottom). It will heal you for a % of bleed damage you cause

Doesn't matter. You heal like mad and you have 40% armor increase based on your Anomaly which is getting increased all the time during run. In really really hard situation just use Leap as few seconds break where you are invul.

Any build that relies on not shooting/using powers in favor of mod swapping to abuse reload mechanics is hot garbage. Yeah running around with a unloaded couple guns I can swap proc to might do more damage, but yeah that gameplay loop of not shooting, swapping weapons and cheese dicking it with AP of cancelling a skill I have only cause I can cancel it to swap my unloaded weapons to do stupid damage. Moaning winds needs to be deleted from the game as it actively stops people from using their skills to create reload swapping builds. Hell I saw a build yesterday for Dev that had all three guns unloaded and was just a moaning winds swap party. Just delete the stupid mod so people have to actually play the damn game.

It's not as straight forward as that though.... if you find yourself overwhelmed by enemies a lot(which tends to happen on monster expos) then Untamed is way better than Bloody Boost, but yes if you tend to play a more distance based Dev then Bloody Boost is better.

Any skill that requires you to not shoot/use skills and hot swap weapons to abuse mods is some crappy. It takes from the game and ends up with builds like this that are about not using your skills but canceling them to abuse a mod mechanic. Running around with multiple unloaded weapons because reloading your weapon does more damage than shooting them. *shakes my head*

Nope, you are getting a lot of life return in just by fighting in close range and build stands up to damage very well.

Dev gets healed anytime something dies in close range, so you are never in danger unless fighting a couple big things at once with no little or medium guys to feed off of. Even in those situations, your damage is high enough that you don't have to worry about the big guys for very long. Essentially your offense offsets the need for that layer of defense. If you find yourself having issues, try Golem instead of Reflect Bullets first. If you are still having issues, then drop Paladin for Blood Donation.
