Great video. Love watching me & Mon Ami too. Closest myself and my Wife get to electric transport are our E Bikes A Scout Electric Trike for Sharon and an Apache Wakita electric cycle for me! Can not go as fast as your Ami though but at least mainly where we live there are lots of cycle lanes and cycle ways. So glad you were so pleased with Ami. Driven loads of Citroens in my time and my Wife once had a 2CV With fold up windows just like the AMI. Stay safe out there!

Congtats on getting your Ami! I just missed out on the vibe, so i ended up ordering the Tonic. It has the black caps around the headlights rather than the back, but i wish they done both honestly. Really looking forward to April when mine arrives. I also ordered mine blind, but totally agree, it's worth pushing the boat out just a little more for those trims.

They look hip, and its better than getting coated in rain and slush and covid sneezings, plus you not only get to survive avoiding those concerns, you even have a bonus place to put your groceries, and that's far better than pulling a Radio Flyer wagon with your bike. Ok, let's wrap it in shrinkwrap, then slather it with a expanding foam, let that cure and remove the foam, then use the exact shape of the car that the foam created, as a mold to make a super affordable custom matching camper. I just grabbed a 1 seater slow speed Jinma J2 from Runhorse. Well, it has something of a backseat for 2 passengers, and I had em install a proper tow hitch to pull stuff around sometimes, such as a micro camper project! I may get a Ami at some point here in sw ontario canada. The J2 looks like a smartcar and a mustang designed using the push pull tool in Meshmixer. Enjoy the wheels. Give it mods. Party on Garth.

If it had just another 10mph added to its top speed I'd go out and order one straight away. In this country, full of impatient drivers, you'll get endless hassle from the boy racers who won't be impressed when they have to sit behind a dinky e car that can't top 30mph downhill.

I think it might be the novelty factor...but a lot of the boy racers have in the large been very accomodating even giving thumbs up....well I think it looked like a thumbs up🤭

I use it now for the school run and my boy loves it. There is a concept car called the Oli that Citroen are toying with but it's not the cheap and cheerful Ami type, so unfortunately doesn't look like we'll be getting a 4 seater version

I love it but the insurance apparently costs more than my car I pay £270 and it’s £350+ for the Ami. Also watched another KZbin video which said the Ami has problems charging battery if the temp falls to 0c , so needs to be kept in a garage in winter. Saying all that should be ok in London as it doesn’t get that cold. Regarding the speed my average is 17mph and has been for year so around London it’s probably 15mph.

Not sure about insurance I'm afraid, as I added it to my trade insurance. It might be to do with it being so new and any incident will most likely mean it's a write off. In January/February when it goes below 0 and frosty most mornings will be interesting to say the least.

No idea why they discontinued it. The new Tonic is £200 cheaper but I prefer the white pack and main attraction was the art print. Can't wait for more accessories to be available on the wider market....would like a front roof spoiler, will look good and reduce the reflection.

@@MeepsRestorations it's one of the key reasons why the speed is limited, so as to stay within those regulatory parameters. As it's so new, rather difficult to get insurance but Citroen do offer insurance through their insurance team

That's how they sell them in the uk to save costs and make it viable to sell in this country. Because it's so small, to be honest I didn't notice any difference...feels more like you're sitting in the middle, as the passenger seat is offset

You should not have bothered just for a plastic box on wheels. It cannot reach the A road standard speed, it only has 46 miles range and can only charge at a maximum of 7Kw. No rapid charge facility. Sorry, not for me however much you glam it up.

The base version is 7.6k...prices were originally due to be around 6/6.5 but due to inflation by time it came to UK,factoring in the brexit red tape and additional logistic costs it's not too bad. After all it is brand new electric car not second hand. In France it's around the £6k mark.
