Note: Claire’s pronouns are they/them, but they’re comfortable with their family referring to them with she/her pronouns. Though Christopher may not always get them right, he’s trying his best and learning ❤️ Thank you to the Pink Dot SG team for connecting us to Claire & Christopher. Head to kzbin.info/www/bejne/pGSqlmdjhtinrJY to check out the Pink Dot 13 livestream if you missed it!

@@HengOngHuatAh no its correct. when you refer to people w/o knowing their gender/pronouns you would say eg. theres a poster about someone who lost *their* dog. *they* must be really worried. its pretty normal but when its conciously used to refer to people whose pronouns are specifically they/them, people tend to think its grammatically wrong and weird just as the other comments say.

Relationship between Claire and Christopher is beautiful. And Claire couldn't ask for a more loving and accepting father. I knew this guy many years ago, he was so tormented because his parents weren't embrace for who he is. He was so despondent, to this day, I hope he's doing ok and alive. Grateful for parents like Christopher uncle. My dad would never. He said in my face before "girls are useless" and he only has eyes for his son. No matter how hard I tried, no use. Girls are useless? Your Dad ought to be ashamed of himself. Even Mao Zedong, a dictator and tyrant in the eyes of many, once famously said :"Women hold up half the sky.", which means: male or female, all genders are equal. I hope that you are living a happy life now. 💖

@@LexicroftAlpha You're right, I always question myself "does he not know that he was born out of a woman?" oh, wait, then I remembered that his mum aka my grandmother is also the type that only feel that boys matter and girls don't, the fact that she managed to give birth to 5 sons. I just try and learn it the tough way, and don't wanna become people like them. I'm glad that the younger generation doesn't follow their footsteps in the same thoughts.

@touchdownbattle Yes, I'm kind of tired when I share my story to people and they'll be like "you can try educating them" because you would understand it won't work. They are stubborn and have been stuck with the mindset, so it's fine. I will not force them to believe in what they won't, they should believe it on their own will. As long as the younger generation doesn't walk in the same path, I'm very glad. I've learn to just not engage :D it gives me peace honestly.

i would think most parents who are unacceptable over children being lgbt is because they think this is a disgrace to their family. The way the father defend her when the uncle comment about her boyish hair, is really a good example to tell those close-minded relatives to mind their own business. Just like asking people why don't get married or have kids.
