Person = duine.....in irish. If you look closely you find a ton of parallels with welsh & irish. I reckon that back in the bronze-age they were as mutually intelligible as Dutch & afrikaans are to each other today.

Even later than that I think. In medieval times Scots and Irish were still a bit different but as far as I know could understand one another easily. Not sure about Welsh but if not, then I imagine you wouldn't have to go back more than one or two millennia to get to that point. Open to correction though.
