I love seeing Max dominate the competition as much as the next guy, but I do like these kinds of vids too where he's just starting with new characters and it's loaded with execution errors, dropped combos, and failed confirms. It's really nice to see the process of how a pro mentally navigates learning new characters, both technically and emotionally.

One thing I've loved as I've gotten more into fighters is gradually being able to recognize more and more of the characters in Max's intro. Before it was only a couple, considering at my start I only really played BlazBlue and knew of Street Fighter, but now I could name most characters.

According to the wiki, she has 10k health which is pretty standard - IIRC Honda and Marisa have 10.5k and Gief has 11k, but everyone else is at 10k

I have a genuine question for a community I’ve been apart of for a min. Are ppl still enjoying the state of the game?? I deleted it abt 2 weeks ago and probably won’t return until they either put out a major patch for the game or add Ed. For me I appreciate the quality of life for their servers, ease of learning and ease of connectivity; what I can’t stand is the actual gameplay. This is someone with multiple plat characters that almost placed diamond. THROWING is the biggest gripe I have for the game, the reach, priority, and damage make throwing its own play style and makes grappling characters the strongest ppl in game. This leads me to Modern. Just should not be in the same ranking pools as classic for multiple reasons. I appreciate it in the game but the ease of input just naturally gives an unfair advantage in competitive settings. I’m not even going to bring up the problem with character balancing, but we all know there’s a problem😐

Modern vs classic I definitely agree with you. They should be separated. Throws, I really don't agree wirh you. I think this is THE best throws in any fighting game. It's strong but fair where you can actually react to it. Other games, there's not enough initial telegraph so it just becomes guess work for when your opponent is doing it. Here you can see when they're doing it and time your buttons appropriately. It takes practice and isn't perfect but is far better than any other game I've seen. Balance, I'm mixed on. On one hand, some characters like lily and gief really could do with some buffs. On the other hand, the rest of the roaster is really evenly balanced with maybe jp as an exception. But the thing that's fascinating about the balance in this game is that, the best characters in the community's eyes have been changing since the game came out and Capcom hasn't done any balance changes (apart from week 1 bug patch). We went from characters like Mannon, Marisa and Luke being considered overpowered and unbalanced to them now being considered good but not op and that's solely because people figured out how to deal with them as they played the game more. That's a very special thing and the reason why I'm hesitant about balance changes. I think people will figure out how to deal with characters like jp even better the longer people experience it.

@@bruhder5854 I agree with you on the roster being mostly evenly balanced but I disagree with you because there are outliers. 2/4 which are gief and lily. Gief, who can kill in 3-4 throws and lily who has multiple hit normals that’s also plus. But the grabbing is a whole different beast. I’ve waited and known when I was about to be grabbed and went to tech to for some reason be punish grabbed off wake-up for more damage. But my main issue with grabbing more than anything is the range. I have a multitude of clips where I’m literally grabbed by the air around my character, there’s no contact whatsoever. This is literally the most range I’ve ever seen in fighting games and I’ve played every tekken since 4 and SF since 3 rereleased in the 2010s

The actually SF6 community(not the people that play the game for a month or 2 and stop playing), generally love the game. It's not perfect, but perfect is not possible. But to me, it sounds like you're not "into" fighting games like we are. Cause you seem to be missing core concepts of how these games are built. For one, these games are built on hitboxes and hurtboxes. It's been like this since the SF2. All the animations are just for show, but the actual effects (damage, blocking, dodging, etc) are all because of those invisible bozes interacting. If you actually look at the throw hitboxes in SF6, they don't reach that far at all. They're around the same distance as Alpha, SF3 and SFV throws. Only Zangief/Marissa have larger ones. but they still don't even reach as far as theyre hands in the animation. What's actually happening, is that hurtboxes are more extended. Meaning, when you throw out a punch, for a lot of characters, their hurtbox reaches a lot farther out than their hitbox and THAT's what's getting grabbed. Normals in SF6 in general reach a lot farther than they do in previous titles, so the way to balance this extended reach, was to make them easier to punish. Throws don't even have priority, it's just a matter of timing. And I will say, a lot of people who play fighting games casually, aren't experiencing the games as they work. They are playing them how they *think* they work, and they tend to get frustrated or drop these games, when how they want to play isn't how their supposed to be. An obvious way to tell we're experiencing the game differently is through perceived balance. You said grappling characters are the "strongest ppl in the game" but majority of the dedicated community believes the grapplers to be the weakest characters in the game.

I`m be honest AKI just isnt very good at this current time, her normals gets stuffed out, neutral game is way lacking and her zoning game isnt very good, I dont know what Capcom was trying to do with her. she has to apply poison and then get another hit on the opponent to do any kind of real damage. take consideration all the other characters can out class her in every department. sorry guys I`m not trying to be negative but just the truth.... bottom 5.
