What thickness acrylic do you use? And how do the ants drink from the water tower
@Dcolony11 күн бұрын
The acrylic glass cover is 2mm thick, the water tower in the nest isn't for drinking only for humidification buddy.

I subscribed to AntsCanada when Mikey only had 80k subs, so I can definitely say I have seen his channel evolve over the years. I will ALWAYS be a fan of Mikey's and the AntsCanada KZbin channel, but I must admit that as his videos became popular and his line of products became more widespread, his channel lost what it initially had. That spirit of the DIY nest building, showcasing the colonies in all their glory, and even using his own line of products in my opinion. Occasionally you see he has a colony house in an AC Hybrid nest, but I feel as if he is now out for more of the entertainment side of things. I know he wants to sing and be a star, but I think if you have a product line, showcase it! Show the world you use your own line and use it in many different ways. What I am trying to say is AntsCanada (even with the over-dramatic nature of his videos these days) will always be a favorite channel of mine and the entire reason I even started keeping ants years ago, but your channel quickly became one of my favorites as well. Your channel, along with his, are honestly the only ant keeping channels I even watch anymore. I hope that even if your channel was to ignite as his did, that you will always stick to your roots. Stick to things that your average person around the world can do and things that are within reason for most people. I love your channel, and as far as TarHeelAnts formacaria go, you couldn't have done a better job! I own quite a few of his nests, and they are NOT cheap. Each one is hand-made and takes time, so I understand the price point, but when you do videos like these with these kinds of results... awesome, just awesome! A very great job indeed buddy! Also, I get the concept of having a colony live in a natural setup and observing natural behaviors that you may not see in a formacarium, but I think that most people that end up keeping ants as pets want to see their queens and colonies. There are the few of us who definitely enjoy a naturalistic setup or 2, but for people that don't live the tropical regions, pretty much have to do it this way in order to allow our colonies a diapose sufficient enough to keep the queens health in good condition along with the workers and brood. Keep on rockin the ant keeping community with your DIY nest setups my friend. Looking forward to the next video.
