Cammy is literally one of the worst characters in Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo, but Silentscope cracked the code and is currently the best Cammy out there! So, of course, I had to pull out my Sagat to challenge him! Let's see how it this will turn out.

Tbh Justin is playing the game correctly as its meant to be played. He is an ABC player and sticking very hard to fundamentals. Sure his gameplay is boring but it brings results and at the end of the day that is what brings victories. Flashy players are fun to watch but they are glass cannons usually.

It’s kind of hard to talk about a tierlist in this game because it’s at a point where it’s very clear. That being said every once in a few years someone finds some weird stuff. The matchups are where it gets interesting. Low tiers will have one good matchup against a high tier but lose every other match. Like gief and boxer

There's one thing I love about old SFII games. You can die just taking 6 or 8 blows, so the game is intense all the round. No silly long combos, no 45 hits combos where the last ones just do a pixel of damage...

This is the life of a ST Cammy player. Thanks to the Law of Averages, you'll eke out the occasional upset victory in a formal match, but the general sentiment from other players is, "Wow, you lost beautifully." (If Justin actually plays O.Sagat more seriously instead of just farting around, he'll see just how badly that character destroys Cammy. It's conceivably a 9-1 match, certainly no better than 8-2.) I mained her for decades. She's fun to play, unless you're up against an S tier turtle. Then it's just a frustrating slog. The unspoken truth is that her game play design is actually terrible, with artificially difficult special move inputs (high range of motion + overlap with another move), a godawfully floaty jump meant to make it easier for her to clear projectiles but that actually just makes her uppercut fodder, virtually useless strong and fierce spinning knuckles, and the lazy and insufficient compensation of giving her higher damage output than most other characters. After many years of using this criminally hamstrung character, I'd pretty much had enough. HD Remix Cammy was a refreshing improvement, which allowed me to enjoy the game for a while longer, but now that that's dead, I'm done with ST. No regrets, I met some great players over the years and had a blast!

I played SF2 Turbo so, so much. When Super SF2 Turbo came out, I only played it a few times. But I remember I played Cammy exactly once. I pulled off a 5 hit combo. I believe she had a basic 3 hit combo which was 3x hadoken motions where she'd lunge forward and punch 3 times. I managed to do the hadoken motion, fierce punch, hadoken motion, fierce punch, hadoken motion. 5 hit combo, all fierce attacks, that did like 80% damage. The opponent came up in stars and I did a throw and just won. I figured any combo where you land it and just win the fight was pretty broken. So I always thought Cammy was the most powerful character. But once again: I only ever played Super SF2 maybe 5 or 6 times total. I'd love to find an old arcade box of this.

Cammy did pretty alright into Ken, that's about it. I've played Dee Jay, Chun, and Cammy since ST and Cammy was definitely the "for fun" pick of the three. I still play those three, and still play a midrange semi-lame Cammy. Not the most rewarding since she's so low HP you can spend an entire round controlling tempo/space, then get hit twice after a vtrigger pops and die. Here's hoping I can play my three mains again in the same game in SF6 if the roster is 100%.

I don't have a hardware to run SFV but when I play with my friend I use Cammy as footsie as possible because I don't have the muscular memory to pull off her combos, I sometimes go dash forward into DP or grab, usually works with my friend.

I'm not even sure, based on this video, what makes this character considered bad. She has good walk speed and her pokes reach pretty far. I must be missing something.

Yes. The biggest thing is she has no fireball. Rushdown characters in st are a bit disadvantaged by the game since moves have so much pushback. She has a really hard time getting in. And a lot of her combos are character specific, and change depending on if the character is standing/crouching. She also has the lowest health. Her matchup spread is also terrible, and she only wins against 4 characters that are all rare (blanka, gief, t.hawk, o t.hawk). Every character in st has cheap stuff, but cammy's can't set up her cheap stuff as easily, and is all unsafe if dropped.

It's a bit less of an obvious one for someone like me that isn't as well versed in this game at a competitive level. But hey, bottom tier in this game seems to be a better place than bottom tier in a lot of other games.
